[Steam] - Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes $9.99 (Was $19.99)

120

World-renowned Kojima Productions brings the Metal Gear Solid franchise to Steam with METAL GEAR SOLID V: GROUND ZEROES. Play as the legendary hero Snake and infiltrate a Cuban military base to rescue the hostages. Can you make it out alive?

$9.99 is about the most I would pay for this considering its length.

  • This series was over for me after MGS1, PS1 and Kojima seemed to agree as he stated he didn't want to make anymore back then

My theory is to pay as many dollars for a game, as I think I'm going to get hours out of it.

When this game is 50 cents, that's the buy in point.

    • This is a terrific game with incredible replay ability. I loved this game to death and enjoy it so much and I've never played MGS before. The side missions make this game much longer than people give credit for.

      • The side missions make this game much longer

Yeah, but any game gets longer if you play the optional content and go for 100% completion. And I don't think "Shoot some birds" or "pick some locks" is really all that engaging considering what the rest of the Metal Gear series has offered.

You would appreciate this a lot less if you had played MGS3 in its prime days. I still hold hope for the Phantom Pain, but this game is a still a demo. No matter how much people try to refute this. A good demo with awesome mechanics, though. However $10 may be the price point for many a reasonable folk.

        • I was referring to the missions like rescue the hostage before he's executed, eliminate the two operatives that escape from that war, destroy the AA turrets so that the strike force may land. Those would be challenges the lock pick things. Hate doing those didn't bother but still got more enjoyment than most games last year.

I can't stand the attitude that every game needs to be grind taking up weeks of time. Some people are busy, have commitments or simply don't want to dedicate countless hours to playing games.

I find 6-8 hours is the perfect length for game. Any more than that and I'll never find the time to finish it.

      • Oh good lord, this. I just laugh anytime I see someone suggest that you need to get past the first ten hours of a game to get to the good parts.

      • Agree, BUT this IS a demo. Demos should be free.

On a similar note, I hate "achievements". The gaming industry was better off without them. Finish the game then play something else and you'll get more enjoyment per amount of time spent.

  • i will rate this the best 2014 game

  • Rumour has it that Kojima has resigned from Konami.

    • Kojima is a huge enough name that he could just say "I want to make a game company" that the entirety of Japan would band together to build a whole company around his feet where he stands in a day. If it's true, Konami, who relies on Kojima to remain afloat, will be in a large degree of danger.
