  • The delivered price of this cable cost less than what you are charging for postage alone

    • We are pretty sure that seller sent the item without its original box. We need to send the product as it is, with its packaging. Thanks.

That's not even a Belkin cable. Just some no-name generic cable. It would be of a lot lower quality than the genuine Belkin cable.

    • Cables come in a few varieties;
      - Cheap crap
      - Cheap but decent
      - Brand name and decent without the $$$
      - Brand name and expensive

If it gets installed, anything is fine. if you plug and unplug, throw in a bag, etc, get something a bit more expensive.

No moulded (pre-made) cable in AV should cost more than $40 unless its achieving a distance others cant.

20% cheaper than the cheapest on staticice @i-Tech.

  • OP can you tell me how these are superior to generic branded ones from ebay? i.e cheaper ones with free shipping

    • In general in terms of usage and transfer speed both type of cable is no different. However as mentioned in article http://www.displayport.org/cables/how-to-choose-a-displaypor… quoted:"…it is important to avoid low quality DisplayPort cables to prevent unexpected video or audio problems, and sometimes even system power-up problems. Always buy cables from a reputable computer system or accessory brand. Or safer yet, buy a cable that is DisplayPor certified."

      Hope this helps.

According to the OP, it comes in a box with the logo "Belkin". This is enough to justify buying it at 300% more than the generic ones.

      • Please have a read through the article in the link above respond on why buying a non brand cables are not recommended.

        Thank you.

  • This one came in 2 days and has been brilliant: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/184498

Until the cable connectors fall apart. Don't expect it to last you many years.

  • The specs are confusing, this one
claims it supports resolution upto 2560×1600 whereas the others only show 1080p.

Bought this works perfectly delivered in 2 days $5.45

    Postage is a a scam $8 seriously

    • +4

How is it a scam. Like to see you send a 500gm or under parcel (with tracking) for under $8. Even Parcel Post 500gm pre-paid parcel satchels from Australia Post are $8.25 and that's not including a handling charge.

OP, you're probably giving us the best deal you can, and your deal is comparatively not too bad (the cheapest I found through a quick search was this which is $32 shipped.

But the problem is, that's still overpriced for a cable. You can buy an entire phone for slightly more here. It simply boggles the mind as to how a mere inert cable can demand a comparative price.

It just looks like Belkin is trying to rip us off and they should be shunned for it. Consumers revolt! ;-)

  • No love for this deal. Pricing value not that great in many ways.

Guys, can we give the OP a break?

He has offered a branded cable, at a price that is better than others are offering. If its not an item you're interested in, move on. If you feel it is worthy of a negative vote, then remember the ozBargain guidelines.

Some of us prefer branded cable, some of us are happy with alternatives. I swing both ways :-)

I applaud those who have provided links for unbranded alternatives, per the ozBargain voting guideline.

  • Hi djavu! :)

    • Hello! How are you doing?

      • Quite good! How's yourself and the online store sales?

        • It's ok I guess, sales is slower for Feb-Mar, however as we did variety of things, so it wasn't down much.
