Yeah..but it's free range and organic.
Not downvoting this offer, but …
Gram for gram, dog treats are incredibly expensive. Look in the pet food aisle, check out the cents per 100 grams and do the math. Many work out to be $40/kilo, which seems absurd.
A few years ago I bought a food dehydrator. Naturally it was from an OzBargain deal and discounted to about $25. My local butcher gives me (free!) liver, which I use to make brittle (they snap like potato chips) liver treats which are identical to those sold at the supermarket for around $40/kg.
Steps:
The only thing that I'm wary about is that because my home-made treats have no preservatives - which is surely a good thing - I don't try to keep them for long.
Interesting, how much did the food dehydrator cost you? Do you have a link for it?
Sorry, I bought the dehydrator years ago from an OzBargain deal, and so it's long gone, but it's something like this:

… except mine was cheaper and had free delivery. Keep an eye out on OzBargain for offers.
At first it was fun dehydrating stuff - bananas and apricots worked especially well - but to tell the truth these days I pretty much only use it for the dog liver treats.
Hmm, well for starters it isn't expensive I thought, so that's good!
Thank you for sharing :)
Are those expired Manna coffee beans?
Bingo won't be getting this fancy food. I like the dehydrator option better.
Isn't 40% discount of $39.99 equal $23.99?
Shipping also $10
400g in a parcel? More expensive than human food…
