What Are The Options for Buying Digital Xbox 360 Games?

Just got a 360 and was wondering what the best options for buying digital only games on the 360 were.

I would like to get Hydro Thunder Hurricane (digital only) on the 360 but was wondering if there was a cheaper option then
buying straight out from Microsoft.

Are there digital code resellers, like for PC and Ps3?
or do they do sales often enough on Live? (seems like a site called Majornelson seems to track those but is down at the moment).

Or perhaps waiting for a 10% off sale for Xbox live gift cards is the only option?
I couldn't find any code resellers selling this one maybe cause it's old or maybe since there are no codes at all for this one.
Dunno if this one receives any discounted sales through XBL occasionally or maybe the ignore it since it's old.

Any help or knowledge would be appreciated thanks.

    RROD

    • LOL agreed hope it doesn't happen to the one I bought too soon. I bought it used so we'll see….
More of a PS3 fan myself but it seems all the current gen consoles and past gen at least to the Ps2/Xbox/Gamecube era seem to have some catastrophic failure points. Or perhaps buyers are more vocale with the internet and perhaps Gaming hardware sellers less kind with fixing consoles. Regardless you didn't hear much about the NES having some critically failing component.

      • The power glove was a critical fail!

if you ps3 fan why buy xbox? also PS3 no failure points. they just work.

Bought a 360 as there are some exclusives worth buying also I got my Used 360 Slim with 250GB for only $30 so that was a major point. Only reason I love the Sony products is the JRPGs they have but surprisingly there are a few JRPG exclusives for the 360 I'd like to pick up.

Regarding Ps3 failure points Common ones include Overheating leading to the YLOD = to the RROD. As well as for some reason it's very common if anything to fail it's the Blueray laser in the Disc reader that dies. (that ones an easy fix actually!) Those are the most commonly noticed issues of the ps3 I've seen when looking at broken ones.
Sometimes the DVD laser will break instead which is funny.

Of course The Hard drive failing in either is a common failure point for both when the HDD is starting to die you see some interesting problems. It's an easy fix as well but does lead to an increase in overall console failures where as the previous consoles with less moving parts had less potential to break for no reason.

@Scaregdearimasu: As a JRPG fan, I would suggest that you pick up Blue Dragon. And then I would say, be aware that the game has untold frame rate and technical problems, because Xbox 360 (I love Blue Dragon, I'm just stating facts. If you like your frames, best pick up something else lol)

But as always, I'm the first to say "Who cares about technical issues. Get it for the games!". The xbox 360 has a ton of exclusives that are absolutely worth it. And PSH! No xboxes red ring anymore. What is this, the dark ages?

        • @FrankMcFuzz:
Funny enough I just turned down Blue Dragon I bought a set of games from a ebay seller and they offered blue dragon for an additional $10. I tried the demo on XBL and the voice actors, Background music (especially on the boss fight with the 3 big bosses dunno raging something or another on the demo) just didn't sit well with me. It's a shame too since it's got some good names behind it with the Dragon ball z artist and a Final Fantasy Music creator on it. But I looked at the back log of Ps3, Vita, and other jrpgs I need to finish and what BD was offering and just couldn't enjoy it. I have to say though it does have an interesting system in place with the charging mini game.

Now if you have any kind of DS system I just finished a Visual novel/Puzzle game that was amazing! The Games called 999 9 Hours 9 Persons 9 Doors with a sequel on the Vita as well. Haven't played the Sequel yet but 999 was Amazing so take a look at that one if you have a DS and like Visual Novels.

Agreed there are some really cool exclusives I look forward to picking up now that I have a 360.

Any other JRPGS or XBox exclusives to look out for?

        • @Scaregdearimasu:In terms of regular exclusives;
Gears of War sits well with me, despite having a disappointing 3rd game.
I also enjoy Viva Pinata, and consider it the last decent Rareware title, but not a lot of people seem to agree with me.
Halo, because, obviously. Anniversary of Combat Evolved is still the best one.
          There's Fable… But…
Crackdown. The first one. You'll have to tolerate that it's an early console release.
Lost Oddysey. It's a JRPG, but so generic that you'll have nightmares about boring random encounters. Cool story and characters though.

Steer clear of most Rareware games though. Kameo has good ideas, but it's no Banjo Kazooie.
