Need Help, Best Way to Connect Home Phone on NBN,

I am about to buy a new wifi router ($150 -$200) maybe Netgear Nighthawk R7000 wireless router for the NBN, getting hooked up soon,

What is the best advice for hooking up a home phone to the NBN, cheaply, Voip ? or another way ?
So confused.

Take a look a Whirlpool. All phone calls on the NBN are via VoIP. If you want it simple opt for a provider that offers UNI-V telephone service so you can plug your existing analogue phones into the socket on the NTD. If you want it cheap or want control and don't mind a bit of complexity get your own VoIP device and choose VoIP service from providers of your choice - see Whirlpool for offers/recommendations. It probably will be
cheaper to use another provider than your ISP, but if your internet proves to be too poor for reliable service with 3rd party providers, VoIP service with your ISP can be beneficial if they support TC-1 service over the UNI-D.

Your VoIP device can be a ATA (analog telephone adaptor) possibly integrated into a router if you want to use your existing phones or a digital IP phone. You'll need to provide your own backup power if you go this route if you want any NBN phone service during a power failure.
