no one under the age of 16

    • Obvious troll is obvious

      • -5

CSGO players are easy to troll because they're mostly 19 year olds who like memes

        • +3

Don't forget how they love to cast Neg votes, make up for the fact Facebook doesn't allow it.

    Ban wave incoming
    smurfs incoming

    • Oh no, I just got into nova and started getting amazing at Dust II

      • +1

I don't think amazing is the right word to use if you just reached nova.

As you climb up you're going to realise that :)

        • Anything less than LEM is pleb

    • What's a smurf?

      • People of a higher rank who buy new accounts to play at the beginner level again.
Incredibly frustrating at a lower level, as it sucks coming up against someone with 2k+ hours when you are trying to play at your level with enemies at your level.

        • tnx, I'd never heard that term before, or I should say that I've seen it but not understood so paid little attention.

Seems to be a big issue, been doing some searching through Steam & Non-Steam forums and there are a ton of complaints about it. Seems people do it because the easy wins give them a ton of easy items to sell …….

        • @Ebany: Winning in CSGO doesn't give you any items. Smurfs do it so they can pub smash.

Counter-Strike Complete is also 50% off includes Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Counter-Strike: Source, Counter-Strike, Counter-Strike: Condition Zero for $14.99 USD good for those who want everything.

  • Is this price the cheapest it has been (50% off) or has it gone cheaper during steam sales?

    • ive seen it go 75% off 2 or 3 times

    • +5

Yeah, it's been to 75% off before. You can keep an eye on game pricing history using isthereanydeal.com (Including historical low prices etc)

      http://isthereanydeal.com/#/page:game/price?plain=counterstr…

    • It's definitely been 75% off several times but I haven't seen it go below 50% in a while.

    • Been 75% off a few times (back when it wasn't as popular, now that'll likely never happen again). Also been a few price glitches in the past (14c CS:GO anyone?)

      • +4

But since so many people have bought it won't it drop to 75% again soon? For me I won't buy it till it's 75% off lol

        • Yep same LOL

        • It wont ever go back to 75% off

        • -1

@KorupTx: Yeah it will. Plus you can still find heaps available for trade.

      • It was only 6 months ago I saw the last -75% sale. This games biggest attraction is the item trading, the amount of gaming friends I know who's kids are always asking for cash to buy items is substantial.

    Fml smurfs here they come…

  • Thanks! Been wanting to get on it

  • -1

I got it for $3 something, this ain't cheap.

  • HACKERS HERE THEY COME….

  • I actually thought this game was free, like DOTA

    • Free competitive fps are plagued with hackers

      • All FPS are plagued with hackers. i.e. Titanfall was the latest I played, hacking was so bad I know of whole clans who gave away the game.

      • CS:GO even at the top level has hackers :(

  • Yes, historically CS:GO has gone cheaper than 50% off. However from now on its unlikely there will be a better deal, so if you want it, now is the time to buy.
When CS goes on sale, typically there is an influx of smurfs and hackers, which is met with anger by much of the CS community. As such, I'm pretty sure its now in Valve's business practice to not make it absurdly cheap ( 75% off ).

    • Valve's business is absurdly cheap prices. Just look at DOTA, it's so cheap it's practically free! ;)

  • Inb4 smurfs

1.6 '4lyfe' - Anyone remember the days when lenovo school computers were used for mainly cs?

    • haha yes

    • +3

1.6 sucked ass. 1.5 was perfection.

CSGO is awesome but. Destroys the rubbish Source.

    • ahahaha good times…

    • Yes, affirmative, Roger that, fire in the hole!

    • Wasn't 1.6 the one with the stupid shield? I remember annoying people at the bridge in aztec with that.

  • Anyone trading ? lol

  • At least the game is honest in that it's global 'offensive' and not mince words like global defensive or National Defence.

  • Good time to get your self one, ain't gonna get cheaper than this

  • -4

How's a deal this mediocre get a 65+ vote, not even close to a historical low - no offence OP but I've seen this game for -50% often enough to make it a regular.

    • Because its not going to get cheaper than this anymore.

      • What makes you guys say that? The game is getting older and older…

        • But the game is getting more and more popular. There's no reason for them to do a 75% sale, which will only worsen two of the most complained about problems - cheaters and smurfs.

        • I still don't get how it gets so many positives. Firstly AUD is worth significantly less and its not 75% off. I bought this game for $3.50 and the deal only got 20 positives or so.

        • @Davo93: I know exactly how you feel. It's a deal but not a great one. It was only about 6 months ago (if even that) I saw it 75% off on some flash sale, I still have a few gift copies floating around.

That aside, this game attracts a certain type of player. The price could have doubled and they'd still be here on Ozbargain giving it +votes, very unfortunate as a deal should be assessed on a huge range of traits and not simply whether an individual likes it or not - that's what the comments section is for.

I even decided to give it a small test. I posted a less hyped game with a current historical low price and "free play", in fact considering the pricing changes it's actually discounted by about 80%. Naturally it only got +1 vote, something seen with a ton awesome game deals posted on Ozbargain.

        • @raven2000: That's simple: old players are more likely to sell stuff, new players are more likely to buy stuff. That aside, the issue of hacking & multi-account holders has been around for a long time, Valve don't care if their making money.

      • Yes it will, Valve is all about cheap games.

    • no Offensive*

Fnatic won the ESL Katowice 2015 against NIP =)

    • What's with the negative vote? maybe a Fnatic hater =)

      • Probably someone ignorant who doesn't know what you're talking about.
