American express is trying to charge me the annual fee even though I signed up during the $0 annual fee promotion offer. I've contacted them and most likely they'll waive the fee, but has anyone else been hit with the fee?
Same for me, rang and it was credited back.
I think they just try to sting people who don't check. Don't feel so bad cancelling and pocketing the free points.
I signed up for that. So far they haven't tried to charge me that I know of.

PS. I had similar issue with ANZ FF black and needed to find a prove as well before they reimbursed.
Amex is trying to deny me this waiver, they want me to provide evidence of their offer. This is why I need a screenshot from someone because the website no longer shows the offer. This is their response to my query.

After 1 week of review. Amex still denies me this offer despite all the evidence I provided. Their response to my dispute was this:

Amex is still denying me this claiming that the google cache and the ozbargain sites quoting their offer did not come from them. They want to claim that I was scammed by these websites and that they will "investigate" this behaviour. Has anyone got an actual screenshot of the offer from at the time this was available?

Yes, one of my friend I referred had same issue. However Amex returned the fee after initially charging it.
