Woolworths Credit Card Fraudulent Transactions

Hi guys,

I know a few of us here have a Woolworths credit card. I would like to know if anyone else have suddenly received fraudulent transactions in the past few weeks?

I've had the card for a few years without an issue, now that the provider has moved to Macquarie I suddenly have a few thousand dollars of fraudulent transactions made in the US. A quick search on the internet shows that a few others have suffered the same experience. I find it strange because I do not use this card for any online transactions and I have a niggling feeling that somehow Macquarie's systems might have been compromised.

Anyone else in the same boat?

    rather than post on ozbargain, shouldnt you be asking the bank?

      Their customer service number is appalling. Can't get any real answers from them apart from the scripted 'I'm sorry to hear that, I understand your concern…' etc.

        So you don't actually want to fix fraudulent transactions, only check to see if others have them too?

        If their customer service is so appalling that you wont even call them when you have a problem with money being fraudulently spent, why haven't you changed cards?

          Sorry I don't think I made myself clear in my OP. I already have contacted them three times regarding the unauthorised transactions. This post is merely to see if anyone else is experiencing the same Issues.

    IO saw a small headline in the age saying 250,000 credits cards stolen and fraudulently used about an hour ago. But that headline has moved on. Maybe google it.
