Cheap Sony Bravia Deals

Guys,

As you know Sony are giving away a free Playstation with the purchase of a qualifying Bravia purchase.

I am struggling to get a good price and the thread over @ whirlpool has degenerated into when they are recieving their PS and not the price!

So I thought the community here could focus more on price and post any deals on Sony Bravia's you come acorss and if you have already purchased ( and got a great deal you want to brag about ) perhaps you could post up the receipt to help others get a good price.

I am looking for a 46w5500 and would be happy with either an eco series or not. If anyone can help let me know.

At this point Big Brown Box is the cheaper than Jb's, Narvy's and co although I stand to be corrected. I am in Perth if anyone can help me out

    $2050 on JbHifi online.. although in the recent HN sale it was $1880. We're getting ridiculous price here in Perth but guess we just have to cope with it.

    I am in the same position.

    I had a look at HN and GG on Thursday Night and neither where that keen to negotiate and the prices are over $2100.

    Might have to try the local JB and Sony shop in Myaree on Saturday.

    Maybe they will give a discount on a group buy :)

    Better pray nothing goes wrong - I've read some complaints online about Bravia's, something about needing a new panel. My friend also has one and has recently lost all the digital channels for some reason. The PS3 is not worth it if they have appalling afterservice(see http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/18430 . You're probably better off with the Samsung deal, with the free TV. Even if you don't want it, you can sell it and buy a PS3 yourself

    I bought mine yesterday, not the best price around, but it should helps you guys to negotiate the deal with sale rep.

    Man, I feel so bad, paid $3700 for a SONY 46" 100Hz LCD 14 months ago with the free PS3.

    Am after exact same deal. Went to Good Guys Rockdale NSW and sticker price was $2297. They were fine to price match Clive Peeters $1999 price but they had no stock (due Tuesday) so went elsewhere. Bought from Bing Lee Rockdale Plaza who also price matched and had stock. Was fine to pay $45 for delivery for instant gratification (well, in 2.5 hours time when they deliver today anyway)

    Just paid $2188 at DSE CBD Perth for a 46" W Series Eco. If you have seen cheaper let me know (in Perth) and I can claim some more cash back from 'em

    Hi Guys

    Spent most of Friday evening and Saturday trying to buy couple of them.

    On Friday,JB HiFi Southland said $1800. But when we went back on Saturday, they played dirty and said that would be $1900. They are low on stock and have seen the interest in the TV.

    GG, Moorabbin said $1999, Clive Anthony, Frankstone said $1871. Clive Peters Moorabbin said they would not be able to match JB Hi Fi (they did not have the stock too). JB Hi Fi Dandenong said $1840, but no stock and wanted full payment up front. We were looking for two tvs, for me and a friend. Friend was not happy to pay the full price, knowing what happened with the Kleenmaid customers (company in liquidation and liquidator has taken all advances). GG Dandenong said they could not do $1840. Havey Norman Chadstone said that they sold some at below cost last week for four days, but couldn't do that now.

    So the bottom line is no TVs and PS3 for us for now. Our best bet is webprice in Collingwood, but got to wait until Monday.

    Please keep us posted and upload invoices if you find any good deal in Melbourne. MonkP, excellent deal you got, alas not in Victoria.CA here said would not do at that price.

    I think it all is due to the Sony offer, low stock levels and W series being later series.

    Purchased today, two KDL WE5 46 inch for $1840 from Retravision Mount Waverley, VIC.
    The best deal so far. I had a hard time yesterday for the W series at $1840, now I got WE series at that price.

    It was a easy deal. Just quoted whirlpool forum discussion. They had sold 5 tvs to someone on Friday, who posted the deal on Whirpool.

    Just visited my local Good Guys here in Syd …. Offered $1840 for the W 46”….showed them a few forum discussions (on my phone)regarding prices etc ……they couldn't come to the party and said the pricing of the last few weeks has changed…..we can’t even come close to that! No counter offer was made. They even had at least a dozen of the 46” W sitting in boxes on the shop floor.

    Has anyone had any recent success with the W series 46"? Even Webprice.com.au has jumped to $2040 (from $1840)…..perhaps this $200 increase is across the board?

    I just got a SONY BRAVIA 46" Full HD LCD TV ECO Series KDL46WE5 today from the NATHAN JARVIE-KOHN at the Brighton GOOD GUYS 681 Nepean Highway for $1839. This was a price match as recommended above by davluong & his picture - you saved me a lot of money - thank you. Note they were retailing it for about a thousand more. Picture quality is nice and natural.

    Please make sure you see Nathan - he was really helpful say Germaine sent you.

    ALSo Sony are withdrawing the PSP offer as of Monday so better be quick or so they said

    This Good Guys is also having a huge carpark sale Friday SAT, Sun so may be some bargains had there.

    Will say more about the tv when it is all set-up. I am totally happy i was prepared to pay a lot more.
