Has anyone ever ordered anything from Officeworks which was only available online and had to have it delivered to their nearest store for pickup?
How long does it take?
I ordered something yesterday afternoon and was hoping to be able to pick it up before the weekend.
Note: The operator tells me, being in Adelaide, it comes from their Melbourne warehouse
I had ordered a canon dslr was available for next day pick up. I am in Melbourne.
It depends where you are and where your closest DC (distribution centre). Most items should now be in-store picks which means that your product(s) are picked off the store's shelves which should be available same day depending on when you order it. Other items are delivered from the DC so may take a few days. You'll get a call or SMS when the product is available for collection.
A couple of weeks in some cases.
I ordered a few items that were available in-store or online over the Christmas/New Year period (for in store pick up) and after waiting more than 2 weeks for them went into the store, grabbed them from the shelves myself, bought them and cancelled my online order. A month after placing the initial order I got an email asking me to collect my online order.
I have had other more positive experiences, but I have found it to be a bit hit and miss. They weren't online only items though.

I had a similar experience with a calculator that I ordered for Click n Collect. Two weeks after I ordered, still no SMS or email to confirm when I could pick up the item. I checked that the same model was available at another store nearby, so I just went and bought it off the shelf. By the time my online collection SMS came, I'd almost forgotten that I ordered a calculator. So I just returned my Click n Collect.
I ordered the $6 fan to my local store. I placed the order on the 26th, and was told i could pick it up on the 3rd.
