Some Review For This Item :

Fun right out of the box! I've flown RC helicopters before, but this is my first quad. Took about a good two hours to start flying smooth and now it's a blast. As you get used to the controls you'll realize small minute changes are the best. This controller is much more sensitive that what I'm used to. Of course trimming is par if you find it drifting. The camera resolution is decent. Biggest drawback? The flight time is only about 7 minutes! And time to a full charge 75 minutes? Recommend to buy three batteries if you want some decent flight time. That's what the 4 stars instead of five. But really fun to fly

This is a very nice quad for the money. It does fly well although it can be a bit wobbly on the way down with the camera and the rotor guards in place. I feel that this is a result of the size and weight of the quad just being to much for the engines to fully support. The flight characteristics change drastically once the rotor guards and the camera are removed. It becomes much more nimble and responsive preforming flips and bank turns much easier. Seems well built and is very durable not the most acrobatic, but an excellent quad to learn on and experiment with aerial photography. The camera is decent, not great producing an acceptable image for what it is.

Just bought the Syma X5C-1 (as opposed to X5C) for $65.00 delivered from eBay. Not sure there is much difference between them so seems like a good price. Some say the X5C-1 is more stable and faster but all I've read seems to be based on opinions and not hard fact.

Supposed to be super fun and good value quad-copter…mine hasn't arrived yet so time will tell.

    • we website syma X5 (no video camera ),Just called different ,all gets from the syma factory direcly:)

Not sure what you mean by "no video camera." I think they come with the same video camera.

I did read the X5C-1 has better firmware but that might be and probably is rubbish.

        • Sorry to let you missed ,this X5C come with the same video cameraC :)

      • I want a quad to carry thin antenna wire (unwound from relay cool, maybe) up & around tree branch. for Shortwave receiver or others' Ham transmitter.

quad might need to carry a stone at end, to lodge over branch.

three branches ,can it fly ok ?
          :)

You're going to need a fairly big unit just to be able to control it (especially near a tree) in anything more than a slight puff of ground level breeze (which is invariably much stronger at tree height).

I wouldn't be adding weight.. it's just going to further increase your size requirements.
Bettee to fly up more than twice tree height then across and over the tree and land.

I'd also probably look at a helicopter.. harder to fly, but 3 fewer rotors to tangle the antenna, especially on the way back down!

  • I have this quad and love it. I think i got mine for around 65aud.

Great quad. Took the camera off and fly it in expert mode. It absolutely hoots! Its really quick and agile. Four way flips are fun. Definitely worth the money

The 50M range is accurate, if not on the generous side. Tried doing the antenna mod, but I think it just does not pump out the mW to go much further. But yes it is fun. I took the camera off and the battery out. Modified the plug so I can use this http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__18558__Turnigy_22… attached to the bottom with tape. Flips are out as it needs lots more hight but the run time is awesome.

  • Good little quad, very simple to learn on and not too shabby outdoors either
