I have a old JVC CRT TV connected with Strong brand HD Set-top box. The Set-Top box has a HDMI slot. Can I use the new ChromeCast with Set-Top box that I bought from Harvey Norman on Saturday.
I am unable to locate ChromeCast on Set-Top box menu settings and could not find much information on Google. Normally I can play the media in the USB connected to the set-top box. Can I request my Ozbargain friends to help me with any information based on their experience if they have used ChromeCast on old CRT TV connected with Set-Top box?
Can We Use Google Chromecast with Old CRT TV and Settop Box

No to OP and partially for monkeyer, you can plug the chromecast into something that allows for a "bypass".
E.g. you can plug it into an amp/receiver that is plugged into the TV.
OP do you have a receiver that you can plug it into?
HDMI on set top box is most likely an output, not an input.
Sounds like a HDMI-out port rather than a HDMI-in port.
If so then it wont work.ok. Thanks a lot for your help.
worth more than the Chromecast and CRT combined, and almost the set top box too!
Yeah, but…If you bought from Taobao?
Chinese just sell it around AUD20

P.S. It's Chinese webpage.
Everyone, thanks a lot for all your help. As battler and hellbound pointed, it is HDMI output port. I did not thought about it and it is written too small.
