I think it's always been like this.

Yeah, the countries I call to are the same price as usual. Competitive, but but discounted that I can see.

  • still expensive to Philippines 29c a minute

I can say that Malaysia has been 6c for a long time. It's a little sneaky when they don't name the countries that have had price cuts. And I am a customer and think they are fine in other respects.

  • This rates are there since 2 yrs… No bargain…

    • as i said

To be honest, vodafone red plans are better than amaysim unlimited at $45, namely 4g, and 300 minutes international calls to the world included. Even at $50 (the red plan usual price), 5 bucks for 300mins works out to be below 2c/min, much cheaper

Of course, it is only better if you require unlimited calls and texts in Aus anyway while the Amaysim can be used as a standalone service just to call overseas. Other possible drawbacks of vodafone might be the lesser 3GB of data allowance (4GB if you are student), and the vodafone/fail network. However, having used it for 1 month and still now, I find that coverage is not as bad as it used to be, without any calls dropping out yet, and 4G is much faster than the optus 3g amaysim is using. I can easily clock 30mbs at my house and 20mbs in the city.

  • Amaysim must be asking for it for it with this. The supermarkets are careful to add dates to their signs advising of longer term price reductions ("reduced since DD/MM/YY"). Dodo PAYG has better international rates BTW. The true lower volume call OzBargainer figures out how to call numbers via the US/Canada to save a few cents/minute when not using their data.
