      MS has the BEST SUPPORT EVER.

      You message them and they basically call you within 10~15 minutes. I have to rate it as one of, if not the, best experience I've had in terms of warranty, in Australia.

      I think I've gone tangent to the argument.

        More importantly - JB don't do support, not in that sense anyway.. If you have an issue, you might be able to take it back and get a replacement in-store, but that'd be about it. The rest is hand-balled to MS.

  Microsoft support are gods. I got my leaky Surface Pro sent away and returned within like 7 business days and they sent me the Pro 2 model back.

  10/10 would Microsoft again.

  When the 10% deal was on the JB Hi-Fi guy offered me surface pro 3 + type cover for around $1530 ($1430 on MS Student store) and he said JB's Surface Pro 3's come with a 2 year warranty whereas MS only offers you one year.

  Although isn't it already a 2 year warranty regardless of where you buy the product from due to the new Australian consumer law?

  If this isn't true then it might be better off buying it from JB for their "two year" warranty

    yeh they told me this too. i feel like they are just talking crap tbh, trying to get me to by their extended warranty or whatever too. ACL would cover the 2 years surely.

  I was at JB-HI yesterday to buy a i5/128 and they would not go below $1187. Asked them about the $1045 deal and they said it ended on Monday. I then went to HN downstairs (Belrose, NSW) and they would not do anything except RRP.
  Told both of them to rack off and I would wait until the next bargain. Glad I waited 24hrs, Thanks OP.
