    Any cheap flights to Perth?

I know where TRENT86 is eating on Wednesday night.

  • 125 chickens is a pretty reasonable freebie, plus other freebies

Wait stop the press they are actually not changing a Chicken Treat into an Oporto for a change?

I nearly fell off my seat when I saw the email come through about a NEW chicken treat store, then realised it was just revamped. I don't know about you but since they destroyed CT in Perth by converting a large amount of Red Rooter and CT stores to Oporto, those Oporto stores suddenly look very quiet.

I hope they've learnt their lesson.

I have no idea what QSR are trying to do in maintaining two nearly identical franchises (Reddies & CTs), while also buying River Rooster, rebranding it to Chooks, killing that off, introducing Oporto stores and seemingly trying to kill off CTs but then opening new stores?

If it were me I would operate two franchises - Reddies and Oporto - build some really strong brand identity and work on taking back some of KFC's marketshare.

Yeah Oporto is quiet, Definitely they can't make up their minds River Rooster -> Chooks -> Chicken Treat (Small) or Red Rooster (Larger), Chicken Treat Express (and Food Court stores) -> Red Rooster. On top of this all the untouched/new Chicken Treat stores seem to be family businesses/franchises.

  • Chicken Treat is still a thing?

    • +2

      Chicken Treat is THE thing.

  • Hmmm, is it worth the 12km drive to the other side of the river for free chicken…

    • +1

Sounds like to me, it's more a question about effort than cost v gain, so I'd go with yes assuming your free atm round 5pm

    • +3

12km in peak hour traffic - Now that's another thing to decide!

  • yesssss
    thanks OP

Good way to test the robustness of the renovations, 500+ people competing for a feed

  • I know where I'll be..only a 10 minute walk from where I live!

Might let Coles (next door) know about this deal just in case I can't get in… Who knows, could spur them into dropping their roast chook prices for the night..

  • So little clicks or votes, when it comes to having in Sydney it would reach Phenomenon levels within seconds, what's happening Wa, I went there for a trip and there's a lot of people, I guess people just don't like chicken.

    • Few WA people on here, not many WA deals even hit this sort of number!

      • Oz bargain meet up anyone?

        • Sure thing, I'll be the one with the white handkerchief…on my head!

In my experience, Chicken Treat has been pretty ordinary. Red Rooster seems to be better.

Also; we're pretty spread out in our urban sprawl. Too far for me (for a free $10 meal)! :D

      what's happening Wa,

They are probably still asleep due to the time difference :-)

      • +3

yeah, so far back in time we haven't even heard that unoriginal crack before eh

  • Why it is always chicken + chips + mashed potatoes. I thought veggie dish should be added like chicken + coleslaw + mashed potatoes.

    • I don't think you get mashed potato.

Already here. About 20-25 people so far. Happy treating!

  • Whoop de whoop, INGLE - WOOOOOOOOD.

didn't queue up long. and the chicken treat mascot was there :D

  • All gone when I rocked up at 7ish. :(
Went to Dominoes across the road to console myself.

Perth’s first new-look Chicken Treat store was turning heads and stopping traffic on Beaufort Street today.

This isn’t an advertorial – the revamped fast-food outlet nearly went up in flames this afternoon, the day after its big launch.
