So I've read that many users have been blocked from a weekend of free data due to over usage or using a mobile broadband device to access data.
Firstly, they refer to a fair use policy which is a crock of horse sh!t. It doesn't really say anything.
Unlimited data should be unlimited, not go over our magic unknown limit and we'll block you.
No one knows that magic amount of data that can trigger blockage.
Secondly, for some people who have been blocked for using a Mobile Broadband device, what's saying they have just put it in there to take advantage of 4g or higher speeds their phone may not have?
I hear the phone regulators have been cracking down on not so unlimited unlimited plans, so what's next?
TIO? Complaints to head office? Bikies? Can we put in a group petition to ACCC/TIO?
Cheers tightarses
Post on Voda facebook page regarding someone concerned about going over limit streaming nonstop in HD:
Vodafone Australia
If you’re playing it non-stop all weekend, streaming HD, we may get in touch and have a chat – there’s no part of the policy that means we cut people off without having a chat about easing up on the use first.
If you’re planning to watch a few shows here and there, then you've got no worries at all.*The policy is much more flexible and user friendly than a set limit of how much data can be used so we don’t have a specific number to give you. *
Based on what you've explained, you’re best off getting back to enjoying your shows in HD than being too concerned about the fair use policy.
Thanks,
Nichole
Lol. The people that got cut off should've been contacted first according to this.
