Genuine Samsung Note 3 battery doesnt support NFC?

I'm looking at buying a genuine note 3 battery.

and I've come across unique mobiles site

http://www.uniquemobiles.com.au/samsung-galaxy-note-3-n9000-…

•Manufacturer's Warranty, so it must be genuine rite?

but it says

*Does not support NFC

So does Samsung make non nfc batteries?

Comments

  • NFC support is supposed to be in the back cover I thought? (there's an antenna loop there)

    • Back cover NFC antenna on the Note 2. In the battery on Note 3.

  • My original batt does work with NFC

If the battery sold by Unique Mobiles doesn't have functioning NFC, it's a counterfeit.

It wasn't always the case, but particularly in relation to Samsung replacements, faking of batteries has become a free-wheeling scam.

More than you probably want to read can be found in this guy's saga / efforts to buy a genuine S3 battery:

    Part 1
    Part 2
    Part 3
    Part 4

Conclusion - actually buying a genuine S3 battery, from Kogan…

    • This… Just buy it from Samsung much easier….

Unique mobiles is known for selling fakes.

  • It's disappointing they have gone to so much trouble to con ppl there real. ie. Aussie stock. Genuine. And worst of all claiming manufacturer warranty.

Unfortunately kogan doesnt have genuine note3 batteries.

Any one know if the mobicity ones are genuine? They claim they are approved government supplier.

I was interested in seeing the lay - or, more particularly, the lie - of the land on eBay as regards Note 4 replacements, but ended up scanning through about a dozen pages of Note 3 listings for you.

More dodge than you can point a note stylus at, but all is not lost.
I haven't looked on Amazon for any like-for-like price comparisons, but you can explore there should you wish, for items that will ship.

Anker Note 3 battery from ankerdirect High quality aftermarket-brand replacement with definite NFC functionality. Allowing for eBay's usual crappy dollar conversion estimate, expect a bit more than the $30 indicated.

German aftermarket-brand PolarCell Rings a bell with me as being a long-term and quality battery supplier, and clearly references working NFC, which is a very good sign. A cheaper option. Around $8 less than the Anker, delivered.

Samsung-branded battery from an Australian seller ONLY branded listing (+ one expensive U.K. one) that I could find on eBay that not only mentions NFC as present and correct, but boldly emphasises it. May actually be a genuine Samsung battery. Seems a smidge too cheap to me at $23 delivered, but if the NFC isn't working (clear sign of ze counterfeits), you will have a VERY straightforward basis for a PayPal claim.

Note… that you cannot be asked by PayPal to return counterfeit goods through the mail, let alone be asked to destroy a lithium battery and video it. If fake (no NFC), you'll get to keep it as a spare. Brook no arguments from PayPal - if you do buy from the Oz seller and it does turn out to be fake.

Anyway, there are three options for you.
