Do I need more than a plug adaptor, or is it just out of the question. I know the price will be horribly affected by the low AUD, but are there any other reasons/consideration?

Thanks guys, can the unlock process from AT&T be carried out in the US?
Buy new iPhone in Australia: 2 year warranty. Buy outside: 1 year.
On the night was leaving LA to fly to San Fran in 2011, i drunk myself stupid and woke up the next morning in my hotel room with a monster hangover and no sign of my iPhone. Dropped into the Apple store in SF and bought an iPhone 4 and all that i did was use my Aus iPhone charger, everything else seemed the same
Well done Chickenleg! Ok, will def buy in Aus. Cheers
Just make sure you get a factory unlocked one. Not a carrier locked one from shops like T-Mobile and Sprint. As for the charger, you would just need an adapter to convert it to AU as Apple charger's are dual voltage (110-240v).
