Super tempting. Was trying to hold out for 30% off on the P2715Q but I don't know if I can. The P2715Q is also 20% off, $711 from $889.

  • 20%…not bad….

do dell often do 30% on the newer models? Not sure if I should hold out…

  • Thanks, been waiting for this.

    Review from the renowned tftcentral:

    http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/reviews/dell_u2515h.htm

If you're after a cheaper option it might be worth considering Korean IPS 1440p panels. Don't know if they come in 25" but they most certainly come in 27" and can be overclocked.

    • Im considering a cheap'ish IPS monitor for photo editing.

Are you aware of any good articles/reviews i can dig into

    • +1

I know it isn't a popular opinion but I am still really happy with my Kogan 27" IPS 1440 monitor bought the other week via Ozbargain when it was reduced down to ~$350 before shipping. I'm not sure if it was ever confirmed if the current ones still use the same LG panel that Apple 27" monitors use but to my eyes it is great.

      • I only just got mine yesterday. Aside from a dead pixel it looks great.

Kogan's service on the other hand… shit. Yes, I really did only get it yesterday.

        • that's f***ed man. When asked about the monitor I usually do include your story and tell people that while I got a good run, Kogan are still hit and miss and tell them its a gamble as to what experience and quality of product you're going to get. In fact I would say that as I've gotten lucky and had the one good experience, I'm due for a classic Kogan crap experience next time around so I will shop elsewhere.

there's just no reasonable excuse that you put your order in several hours before mine, and got stuffed around and had to wait a week and half extra

Just take note there is no DVI input.

    • Pretty easy fix by purchasing hdmi to dvi adapters I guess. It's weird, the previous models (U2412 for eg) never had HDMI but had DP, dsub and DP. Now they change it to HDMI and dp only. Grrr.

  • Mine came to $415.21. :( LOL

Hope it works with my Mac mini 2012 via DisplayPort.

    • $0.21 lost

    • I can't see any reason why it won't, I've ordered one for my 2012 Mac Mini to replace my Dell 2407, should be a great upgrade.

      • Have you been using DisplayPort?

I skipped on the Soundbar this time.

      • I can't see any reason why it won't, I've ordered one for my 2012 Mac Mini to replace my Dell 2407, should be a great upgrade.

        You mean this one?
        http://www.dell.com/downloads/emea/products/snp/UltraSharp%2…

The max resolution is 1920 x 1200, which is doable even with HDMI with the mini. The U2515H is 2560 x 1440, so it's too high for HDMI on the mini 2012, and you'd either need the expensive dual-link DVI adapter, or hopefully a straight DisplayPort cable.

        [Edit: Oops, no DVI port…]

        • I've been using a displayport/thunderbolt to dvi cable. The mac mini 2012 can drive the 27" apple display which is the same resolution as the u2515h so it should be fine with the included minidp to displayport cable.

        • @automated:

Hopefully won't take long to find out! I don't doubt it could drive 2560 x 1440 via the Thunderbolt/mini DisplayPort. My fear is whether there's any issue with the U2515H's DisplayPort/mini DisplayPort, but that may have more to do with Dell 4K displays from what I've read. Some posters concluded Dell's DisplayPorts were a tad iffy.

  • Love your username op!

Man, the text is gonna be tiny on this…

    • DPI scaling on osx is quite good. On windows and Linux it's still getting there…

    • It's not really - I have Windows on it using the default "Smaller" text size and even drop the fonts down a few points and still comfortable for 45 year old eyes.

I use two of these at work, absolutely gorgeous screens to use!

  • Just picked up a U2715H for $649, 2x U2515H would have been nice too

  • I feel ripped off paying an extra 21cents.

for every 1000 they sell thats an extra $210. The extra dosh goes into Michael Dells call girl fund

    • Agreed :)

I think 2x25" would be better then 2x27 now that I have them both in front of me. I have to turn my head quite a lot to look at the second monitor.

1440p is very nice though :)

  • Anyone know if you can connect a macbook pro 13" 2013 model to this and still get 1440p and 60Hz? HDMI? Thanks.

    • +1

No, you will need to use displayport.

  • +1

You should be able to via displayport/thunderbolt.

    • Thanks guys.

I noticed the package contents say it comes with a DP cable (mini DP to DP). Does that mean all I need to get is a thunderbolt cable and I'm good to go?

      • +1

No, same thing. Thunderbolt also includes what mini DisplayPort does.

Technically the included mini DP to DP cable should be all you'd need.

        • Awesome, thanks!

  • Thanks for this OP

If you are a graphics professional or someone who likes vibrant colours on an IPS monitor DO NOT buy the U2515H or U2715H

I just received my U2715H and was not impressed by the colours. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/dvgg9m5fq94pj4j/AADncz9y1UUrP4N0f…

Build quality is great and price is attractive. Be sure this is what you want before handing over your hand earned dollars.

    • That's because it's matte instead of glossy. It's not an inherent problem of the monitor.

      • That's right Prospect, still it needs to be said

    • I would like to say that applying the ICC profile from TFT Central improves the colours dramatically on the U2715H. The result is a much brighter screen with richer colours. It's not perfect but it will be fine for Web Design, Video Editing and light Print/Graphic Design work.

Delivery was nearly quicker than how long it took me to get the monitor out of the box - the most complicated packing I think I've ever seen. I noticed unpacking instructions were on the box, afterwards…

Anyway, absolutely beautiful monitor. Thanks OP, I'd only set up an OzBargain alert a few days prior for this monitor.

    • +1

I noticed it, thought it was smart aligning the pictures of the monitor front and back, then noticed the box was packed the wrong way!

  • Thanks OP ordered 2 yesterday 11am delivered within 24 hours (SYD > MEL).
FYI, plugged into HDMI at work (no access to DP) on at GT 640 and can view optimal res. 2560 x 1440.

  • Waiting for this to become cheaper p2415q

    http://cplonline.com.au/index.php/dell-p2415q-23-8-ultra-hd-…

  • I would consider this if it was a 27"

    • I wouldn't, and didn't. This is a gorgeous screen for what it is, and the difference between 25" and 27" is about 8%, so if it's possible to shift the screen a couple of inches closer, it'd be about the same.

    • I would have passed on the deal if it was 27" - pixel density trumps for a computer screen otherwise you're constantly moving your head. If using it for a console display where you're sitting back, then I'd go for something larger.

  • bought this on the last day of the offer and now i'm still waiting for it. Not even shipped yet. :( called dell and they say they ran out of it and pending stock to come in :(

    • It'll be worth the wait.

  • Ordered 22/02/2015
Got like the 4th or 5th delayed shipping email this AM
