I think this is a pretty good deal for anyone looking to upgrade to an ssd for the first time or just looking to expand in space, cheapest we get here in Australia is about $299. The other capacity ones are also cheaper then current Australian prices.

  • Sequential reads/writes up to 535 / 450 MB/s on all file types

aint the MX-100 500 G version be better in specs?

this looks like a level below that one with the MX550 being at the top

    • Well when it comes to real world testing the BX-100 is slightly better and is relatively cheaper then the MX-100, i used this website as reference:
      http://ssd.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Crucial-MX100-256GB-vs-…
The mx-100 512gb is 20 USD more then this one, so essentially you paying 20 bucks more for the 12 extra GB and slightly lower performance.

      • While that holds true for the 256gb model the 500gb is a different story:

        http://ssd.userbenchmark.com/SpeedTest/10775/Crucial-CT512MX…
        Average Bench: 90% - Rank 44th / 580

        http://ssd.userbenchmark.com/SpeedTest/22570/CT500BX100SSD1
        Average Bench: 88.6% - Rank 51st / 580

The performance is still virtually identical though so not sure that it's worth that extra $20

I got the 500GB version MX-100 currently running in my primary system in place of the 256GB Samsung evo, I really don't see the difference between the MX-100 and EVO.

In fact I hardly see any SSD can give a different feel after they were capable of 400 mb read and write on a SATA 3 interface.

What is key is the software support, firmware upgrades and stuff.
