  • How long does the credit last for once it's redeemed?

I know when I had an iPhone and redeemed iTunes credit it would never expire

    • According to this, it expires 2 years after card is issued. It's for the US but I assume it's the same worldwide?

      • +3

That takes me to the AU terms page and it says specifically this:

        3. Expiration Period; No Fees. Card value expires 2 years following the date of (1) card issuance, or (2) last activity on Google Play stored value account into which the card is redeemed, whichever is later.

So if your account is active (logged into) more than once every 2 years it should never expire? Is that how you guys read it?

        • Hah good thing I haven't signed any important contracts recently!

        • I would think activity means purchase not just logging in (every app update would have you logging in)

  • in theory .. could you buy approx 11 of these and then buy a $449 nexus 5 so it would cost you .. approx $314 ?

    • Don't see why not. It doesn't say limited to x per person.

Not avalible for hardware i think

    • +2

      nope

      • Limits may apply to redemption and use. Items ineligible for purchase using Gift Card include certain items in the “Devices” section of Google Play (e.g., phones, tablets and related device accessories) and certain subscriptions, see the Help Center for more information.
    • No hardware.

Also don't forget the Telstra $30 starter kits now selling for $15 at Dick Smith.

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/182633

You get $30 Google Play credit in addition to whatever phone and/or mobile plan you register for. I have been making good use of this bonus benefit for some time now as the same deal had previously been available from Coles and Target. In my case, I register for 2Gb of mobile internet for 30 days with each kit.

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/wiki/telstra_pre-paid_starter_p…

    • Wow first I heard of this - so let me get this straight, I can buy a $30 prepaid kit for $15 and use that $30 as carrier billing to buy stuff from the Play store?

Any reason to not buy multiple at the same time?

      • Nope no reason not to. Many people here have been buying multiple of these for a long time.

I have had 20+ activated in the past year, no problem. I buy them on 1/3 the price and transfer the credit to my main prepaid sim. :)

        • Can you also roll over the credit you transferred when you recharge for the main sim so you can get more out of it?

        • +1

@BubbLeT: Ofc. What I personally do is, change to Long life, recharge $30 to extend the expiry date, and then change back to Simplicity for better rates.

    • of course, I meant to say "whatever phone and/or mobile internet plan you register for".

      • u can only use $20 on google credit out of that $30 as far i know

        • So for people who just want google play credit, it's actually $20 credit for $15. This deal is a bit cheaper.

        • +3

@nfr: Erroorfree is mistaken. I believe he is remembering the comment that you can only spend $20 in one transaction, not total.
You can indeed use the full amount of your credit.

        • @Composure:
Thanks. I wished I knew about the Telstra kits b4 spending all the $ on games….

  • @Tir Exactly right. I've done it myself heaps of times now. Only hitch is that the kits sell out pretty quick when these deals are on. I picked up the last one from my local DSE store yesterday.

    • +1

Mine took a day or two on the previous offers. One code was already redeemed but an email to the guy sorted that in three minutes (just gave me a new one on the spot).

    • I ordered Friday using Paypal, codes emailed to me Saturday.

    • I ordered Friday too, paid with CC, still waiting for my code, hopefully should come today. thanks

  • Hey Ozstockers, These cards are currently out of stock
First of all, we want to thank you for your support
Due to a larger number of customers made orders this time, we have to close this deal even though the date does not hit 25/02/2015
We do apologise for any inconvenience it may have caused

    • I haven't got mine either, paid on 15/02 marked as shipped on 16/02 but I haven't got anything on my email (or mailbox just in case).
I emailed and called but got no response, gonna wait until tomorrow and file paypal dispute.
