theres an old saying that you'll buy something you dont like if the price is low enough

i wonder how low this has to go before the average person here buys it knowing what kingston have done, and continue to do

    • probably around 30 bucks delivered, and I'll buy a few.. but not for $76

Could you explain what they did wrong? I must have missed the memo.

after got a good review with initial release, then Kingston uses cheaper thus slower and shorter life time nand chip for mass production, under exactly same model number.

but be honest, this drive is best value for old PC upgrade, for it's quality, you would rather buy Kingston than touching OCZ

        • I see, thanks. Pretty shitty move. What's considered good now? Intel? Samsung?

@elusive: Crucial M500 (with buffer protection) is one of the best for desktop in case of power failure as they still have the ability to finish what they are doing and shut off properly. Laptops have battery so there is no problem with other SSD's

        • I bought mine for $46 and have been using it for 8 months now in my HTPC. It's 'slower' than my other SSDs and boot up time is about 15secs on Win7. But it's cheap and quite frankly you wouldn't be able to tell the difference under normal usage.

        • Coz in 2015 is actually Toshiba, so quality should be way better and no dirty tricks this time around,
As for Kingston, they should have the v310 out by now.. Why the known to be bad 300 still selling?
If the 960gb version is 300 or less I may get one as secondary drive else… Stay away.

    • Drop in aud making it less worth buying overseas.

  • RAM: 122880 MB

  • My 60GB failed. I heard a lot of these fail. You get what you pay for.

I just bought one from shopping express: $72 with free shipping.

    http://www.shoppingexpress.com.au/buy/kingston-120gb-ssdnow-…

    • why? you do know of all the issues with these right?

      • I think the point is that you can buy this terrible drive locally for less than this deal.

  • +2

Cheaper at shopping express as mentioned above.

These drives are slooooooow i replaced mime with an intel after it failed (about 12 months in) and couldn't believe the difference. Do yourself a favor and spend a bit more on a quality product.

  • Thanks for the feedback guys,
I issued in a cancellation and will spend more money on a better SSD.
However, it is cheaper at shopping express for those who still want such a drive. They have other SSDs on sale.

  • Cheaper at SE as per link above. No deal. Spammer.
