HDMI to AV converter

Hi,

My next door neighbour wants to stream movies from his laptop to his Sanyo TV
(model CP21XS2). What would be the best (and cheapest) way to do this ?

I was thinking of getting him an HDMI to AV converter, something like this maybe : http://www.ozstock.com.au/15105/HDMI-to-AV-Converter#shippin…

Would that work?

Thanks,
JJB

        $14.99 + free shipping,

with 2% cashback since it was ebay

Image was pretty good but a bit of the screen was cut out.

Off topic, I think it's time for your neighbour to replace his 9 year old 21" CRT TV. There are plenty of cheap TV's on OzBargain, $400 will get something fairly decent.

He's a stubborn, grumpy asian man who thinks he's going to die soon. He only ever buys enough grocery to last 4 days because what if he dies? wouldn't all that food go to waste? O.O I doubt he will agree to get a new tv.

His son and daughter, who are interstate have tried unsuccessfully to get him to move in with them. So we keep an eye on him. Sometime our kids take over a hot plate for him and in exchange he teaches them mandarin. At least that's what I've been told. Although every single time, I've been over to his place to pick up the kids, I've found all 3 of them huddled on the couch, watching chinese movies of some sort on the laptop.

He's very fond of my kids and has given them chinese nicknames: Li Sui Loong and Sai Fon. My kids think its cool. lol. We're not asian :)

      • Great story. :-)

        • lol sorry .I'm home alone and I'm so bored :(
