Has anybody found somewhere as good as the old deal on the Entertainment Book to buy 5% discounted Coles gift cards without credit card surcharge and postage fees? Also that sends the cards not activated to minimise risk as EB was doing.

Yes, I meant 1%. It's registered post, no insurance.
Another way is to purchase a gift card under $100 via paywave with either ME Bank or a Citibank debit card to receive 5% off the purchase price.
I've complete switched shopping to woolies, especially since getting 7.5% with woolies groceries and petrol, vs full price at Coles & shell.

The best I've found is AGL Rewards. You have to be an AGL customer.
You can order a maximum of $1000 at any one time at 5% off. The shipping fee is $5.
They charge a credit card surcharge of 10%, so the effective discount is 3.5% for credit card and 4.5% for bank deposit.
They also come pre-activated.
