Don't know if they're exactly the same (look the same) but 2 for $79.95 at repco recently.

  • +2

    Specs here
Apparently it's the same as this one from Bunnings that's $99

    • +1

keep in mind that these and those from bunnings are light duty. the link from bunnings state that they are "Heavy Duty steel construction", but they aren't. i've three whalen that's rated 454kg/p shelf. even that isn't heavy duty.

      • Yeah looks ok for light stuff but it looks weak as piss to me..

But then again I've got pallet racking LOL That stuff is heavy duty !

        • Hi Billy and Whooah, masters has a range of Heavy Duty Shelving that rated at 500kg. It 10% Off in the current catalogue page 14.

      • But is there a definition for "heavy duty" though?

    • +1

I followed your link and it appears bunnings have dropped price to $62

      • Still $99 for me

        • $62 in Melbourne for me as well (North-East suburbs).

        • @tomsco: looks like it's at selected Bunnings stores only

    "Holds 200KG each shelve"

Do not let the students' landlords see this…

      bunk bed?

      • Everyone likes nowlan's comment but that is what siuoi implied… jeez.

  • +5

shelving for all the ozbargains that you brought and never used……

    • Any self respecting OZB would have bought the $14 ones that came on offer a month ago!

      • +15

Don't you mean any shelf respecting OZB ?

  • +5

I got some of these on a previous deal. Nice and deep and hold a lot of heavy gear without moving a bit. Really solid. I painted the mdf shelves as I use them in the house and I wanted them to look a bit nicer and also stop the mdf off-gassing formaldehyde in the house. Highly recommend these at this price. Much cheaper and better specs than the other big retailers. I would buy more if I could justify it.

    • +6

I concur. I have 2 of these in the garage. Hold plenty. Not like the cheap ass stuff at super cheap.

  • +9

thanks! got it to store all my unused eneloops.

    • +8

I made one out of my unused eneloops.

    • @ kuripot

What's the envelop rating on these?

      • +1

*eneloop (grrr auto correct). Answer is 16,666 "AAA" or 7142 "AA" (per shelf, assuming that there is enough room between shelves to contain that many - there is always the top shelf for any overflow (up to the shelf limit stated)). That means that the unit can potentially hold 83,330 "AAA" eneloops or 35,710 "AA" eneloops, or a combination thereof.

        • i only have 3 unused packs of AA.. placed it on the 2nd shelf of my 2nd shelving unit.

..i just realized now i can buy more of this shelving unit so i can place it(unopened) between my 2 units.. it can hold 200k / shelf.. i wonder how many it csn hold..

  • FYI Springfield Masters have 280 in stock at the moment

  • Are these comparable in quality to the shelves Costco has sold for years?

  • Looks their homepage (main page) does not show up this unit anymore.
    Is this Geelong brand?

    • Yes Geelong brand

      • The ones I saw at Masters said Amazon. I didn't see Geelong anywhere on the box.

        • Geelong makes the Amazon brand. It said Geelong on the item description on the receipt.

        • +1

          @HunterOfBargains20: Indeed it does

Just came to Bunnings in Mentone (Melbourne) and can confirm they have reduced the price to S62 although the tag said $99. There were 14 left on the (ahem) shelves when I left, at around 11am.

    Dimensions listed at 1830mm x 1219mm x 400mm

200kg per shelf on each of the 5 shelves.

    • +1 for the ahem.

      $62 or $65?

      • +1

        Definitely $62 in Bunnings Mentone.

    • -3

Sounds like Bunnings has very limited stock. Masters have hundreds at every store

      • How are you coming to that conclusion? Do you have knowledge of or access to their inventory management processes and systems?

        • Mincey said they have 14 left
I work at Masters and can see there are/were hundreds available at each store

        • @HunterOfBargains20: 14 boxes on one shelf in one store is not an indication of limited stock.

    • I took 2 at 4.30pm. There was about 20 left on the pile.

N.B. Shelf price was still $99. Scanned at $62.

  • Yeah I thnk costco has 65$ evryday price

  • +1

    Thanks OP. Bought 6.

  • +3

I can see this deal getting shelved soon

It's up and installed :) Neat garage now :)

    • Are the dimensions the same as the Bunnings one? Steel or powder coated?

    • Looks great

    • +1

Thanks. That helped me visualise my stuff being stored nice and tidy. Let me go and get one.

      • =)

I bought two on Sunday from Masters Chullora (NSW). There were plenty left.
They made a HUGE difference to our garage. The whole family was pleasantly surprised.
          Very happy. Thanks again.
And, thanks OP for posting this.

          @smurfz:

Yep it's amazing what using the space up compares to along the wall will do :)

  • +1

Chullora still had several piles (at least) but might not last as people include me were buying multiple sets. Thanks OP.

  • Thanks OP! Bought three from North Lakes @65 each at lunch time. There was probably another 30-40 left but, like mentioned above, others were walking out with two or more at a time so not sure how much longer they'll have it in stock…

  • +1

Recommended for internal use only. Not suitable if it is likely to get wet.

    • You could always waterproof the MDF shelves.

  • Anyone else having doubts about the join between the two upright struts? Other similar shelves, both boltless and with bolts, either overlap the two shorter upright struts or have some joining piece.
However there's no such bit in this set.
Don't really feel like driving back to Masters to check out their setup…

    @gomo any tips?

    • I know what you mean - Bunnings units I've assembled in the past had a joining pin.

For other Geelong units (420mm deep, 350kg shelf capacity), I had my partner hold the upper upright piece directly on top of the lower upright while I held the other upper upright and hammered the cross joining piece down in to place. Otherwise, hammering made an upper upright fall behind the lower (however it did still take a couple of attempts as it may still fall).

I haven't had issues with its stability once fully assembled.

    • +1

Joining them is the hardest part, I just set it up so they are just sitting on the knobs and hope for the best when I hammer it down, you cannot wedge the two rails as the knob only extends enough for the one rail on each knob,

The joining part took me the longest and I've made two of these shelves now, also some of the rails in my set needed to be bent back looks like a manufacturer issue because the way they are packaged there isn't anyway ends can be bent out of whack

      • Sounds like what I had to do as well.
I had my 7 year old helping, so he tapped them in to pace while I held them in place as best I could.

Tempted to reinforce the join with some sheet metal and some nuts and bolts just in case I decide to chuck some heave stuff on to the upper shelves.

Had a look at the one at Bunnings and it looks to be a similar setup. Although the 2m high version does join the upright struts with a separate piece. But that was around $150 though

        • Shouldn't matter to much in terms of the weight because it should be sitting directly on those rails anyway , I did mine solo wish my dog could of helped haha he was just sleeping on the ground watching me build the shelve

  • Anyone know if Masters accept the electronic Wish gift cards (not the physical ones)?

    Thanks!

    • To answer my own question: yes they do.

  • Thx, just picked up 4. Now to get organised

This was in the local Adelaide paper on Saturday morning. Got to the store around 2pm to find they had sold out. This is bait advertising so bad karma on Masters. Off to Bunnings to get a similar shelf at $3 less.

    • +1

These were selling like hotcakes at my local Masters.

they probably had 40+ when i walked in and when i grabbed 3 on the way out there were about 11.

  • Chullora is out of stock

  • No idea about the various quality of these depending on brand, but Stratco have something that looks similar for $59 at the moment for those that can't find Masters stock and are still interested http://catalogues.stratco.com.au/offer/garden-organization-s…
