Stunt Scooters What Brands??

Im looking to buy my 9 year old a stunt scooter for his birthday but don't know anything about brands.

I have previously bought him the fold-able razor brand scooter and upgraded bearing and wheels but now he wants a stunt one?

I believe they have solid handlebars (not fold-able)and built a lot stronger.

can anyone help me out with some good brands that will last.

thanks

razor is the main brand AFAIK. Some of the "pro" models have a better weight limit and have solid handlebars. Also work out if you want it folding or not. The folding ones are more compact, but arguably weaker. I used to have a folding one, but i hindsight a solid one would have been better as i very rarely folded it up.

    • Yeah solid one for sure.

they have the foldable ones and they look really dangerous (as in weak) when they are jumping of stuff.

  • It really depends on how much you really want to spend, I personally never got into scooters when I was younger but the go to brand seems to be MGP (Mad Gear Pro) such as this:

The 'stunt' scooter is usually called a freestyle scooter.

If you go on skaterhq.com.au they have a range of complete scooters they come with everything needed for a reasonable price though the cheaper options such as MGP you may want to purchase a set of metal core or alloy core wheels as these tend to add durability and strength as you can break the plastic centers of the wheels. I have dealt with these guys for some skateboard gear and they were awesome to deal with.

Any more help needed let me know!

    • Cheers for the info, it gives me a start.

the boys like there scooters and have the YAK wheels and abec9 bearing as upgrades, dam they spin forever!

I know nothing about scooters, even bmx brands have changed since i was a kid so im totally lost.
