What the @#$% is 'biltong'?

Biltong is a type of air-dried meat delicacy similar to jerky traditionally from South Africa, but made right here in Australia using Aussie beef. The traditional biltong is more moist than jerky, and easier to eat.

    $44.77+delivery if you add 4x 250g instead ;)
PS. Delivery should be in the title.

This is a good price! Only slightly more than Costco (and no membership fee req'd!) and the really good Jack Links specials.

I'll have to update comparison of jerkies ( https://docs.google.com/document/d/15uuajFHfTkBu8tzfJIT5WB-x… ) with this product when I recieve my order.

    • You're right, the discounted kg price is supposed to be $44.80 (for traditional biltong) - I had put "$48.40" by mistake. Thanks!

      Same. It's great stuff.
I recommend grabbing the 250g bags and popping in the freezer so always have this tasty treat on hand.
Would be good to have option on website for Brookvale pickup.

Thank you for the amazing biltong. The order arrived the following day. I finished the entire kg of biltong and just placed an order for more!! Delicious!

        • Thanks so much Binx!

  • How hard is it to cut the uncut biltong yourself, if it is the dry variety?

    • +1

      With the traditional biltong
      (http://www.biltong.com.au/products/classic-traditional-bilto…)
you can choose 'sliced' or 'whole' and it's available in 3 kinds of dryness:
      - Wet
      - Average
      - Dry

If you choose 'whole', indeed the 'dry' variety can be a bit tedious to cut yourself unless you have one of our biltong cutters or use something like shears (a bread knife will work but will be quite slow).
