Google Nexus Player

Hey there,

I am looking at buying the Google Nexus Player and since it was not available to ship to Aus from any of the sellers (Amazon, BestBuy, Google Play) was looking for some help. What would be the cheapest way of getting it here? Should I use comGateway with their buyforme service or try shipping to a US address and then forward it from there or is there a better way?

Any help would be appreciated thanks :)

    The first thing i'd make sure is it works with the google AU play store. Otherwise it's just an expensive brick

      Yeah it does mate, have heard several people using them over here. Not too concerned about that though so all good

    any reason you need it right now?

    I was in the same boat, but basically decided to wait until it was released locally. Reviews were middling. I have a chromecast and imported a firetv stick for plex/hulu/netflix (with a remote… kids) and it works great for what i need. When it's released locally i'll totally still get one. But hey, thats now why you're here.

    Use a 3rd party shipping company. I personally use comgateway. When you register, you receive a US address to use for shipping. Buy from amazon, ship to your U.S address and have them ship it to you. If you're a prime member, 2 day shipping is free. The cost from comgateway is comparable to shipping from Amazon. Its a good service which I've used several times.

    Don't NEED it right now but I did get caught up in the excitement of it all and reading through, especially since I have never had any kind of media center or chromecast setup. Reading through a few things, I am now starting to lean to just waiting and maybe going with a chromecast. I thought with the additional controller for games on tv and playing emulators on my PC it would be pretty cool. Plus my GF really wants to get it for me for my B'day.

    I had a look on ebay and found a few people selling it cheaper than amazon and around $25-30 to ship to Australia as well. Sorta got me wanting it again. Would anyone have an idea on Aus release date? I can't find anything.
