Sweet and full bodied with notes of dark chocolate, cherry and roast almonds.
This coffee is a blend made up of naturally processed coffees from several farms in Brazil’s Poços de Caldas region. Located in the south-west of Minas Gerais state, close to the border with São Paulo state, Poços de Caldas is a very fertile area whose green hills are scattered with coffee farms. It enjoys a mild, temperate climate and an average altitude of 1000m and above.
This blend is prepared by our friends at Bourbon Specialty Coffee. The cherries used for the blend were processed using the natural method – meaning that they were picked and then dried with the fruit of the cherry still attached.

Indonesian Sumatran Mandheling – Blue Batak Tiger
These Sumatran beans benefit from a higher altitude that produces a brightness in the cup and complexities unique to this region. Sweet syrupy characters, good cup qualities and great complexities are prominent. Blue-green colour. Screen size 16/18.

  • comparing this with your other deal here: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/181090

This one is $10 more, but the coffees sound like they line up better with my preferences. I drink flat whites, and prefer smooth caramel/chocolate notes, but full bodied.

    Any advice? :)

Hey Salem, Sounds like these coffees would definitely suit you then. Both have a great body on them and smooth and chocolately.

We are running $49.95 deals for those more interested in decent fresh coffee at a cheaper price point and also running the $59.95 deals for those that want to try some more expensive specialty coffees.

      • sold!

        Hello rep,

I am looking for a blend that is luscious, refined and muscular.

Something with impressive length and power.

I guess what I am trying to say is something moist, juicy and silky, that delivers a lingering aftertaste.

        Can you help?

          I'm right here!

@Son ofa Zombie: Guatemala Finca Santa Clara ;-)

  • arnt the Blue Batak Tigers endangered?

    • +1

Yes, that's why we aren't able to give them out free with the coffee ;-)

      • Jokes aside, here's some info

Blue Batak Tiger is back, produced by the Banyan farmer group in Lintong. The
farmers receive regular support and training from Volkopi’s sustainability field team
to help replanting, fertilising, composting and general good farming practices to
increase yields and maintain high quality standards. The coffee itself is a beautiful
jade blue, from wet hulling the parchment in the process unique to Sumatra called
giling basa. Furthermore, Cofi-Com are supporting Volkopi’s Tiger Conservation
project. For every bag we purchase a donation is made to fund the Tiger Conservation
teams. The funding is used to buy equipment and training for rangers who
survey the jungle to monitor poaching and other illegal activities while learning and
protecting these critically endangered beautiful big cats.

      • ohh so no tiger in the coffee? so what does the tigers have to do with this coffee?

        • +4

They get to eat a worker every now and then.

  • Which deal would be better suited for french press/plunger coffees? I like lighter-medium beans rather than dark ones. Cheers

    • Hey Daffo, these particular coffees are being roasted more to a medium-medium dark profile. If you want to shoot me an email then I might be able to help out with some more suitable coffees as I'm roasting a couple of other single origins to a light medium profile at the moment. [email protected] Cheers Simon

  • What is the acidity like on these two coffee's Simon?

    • +1

The Indonesian has a decent grapefruit acidity on it but is being roasted meduim dark and is a very full bodied smooth coffee so not to overpowering.

The Brazilian has good body but a lower acidity than often found in other natural processed coffees

      • Thanks Simon. I'll make a note and order it at the end of the deal. Hoping it's not too acidic as hubby has being having trouble with some coffee's. We're liking the chocolate flavoured coffee's.

  • I really wish there was a way to order coffee beans online, 1kg for $30 delivered. It's too much to buy 2kg at once and a hassle to find people to split with.

    • +2

Shipping cost is around $10-$12 on 1kg and with these being specialty coffees which also lose around 20% volume during roasting it isn't viable to offer at $30

I can help out though and do a cheaper coffee for you at this price or offer $35 delivered for one of one of these coffees. Shoot me an email and I'll try to assist
