Trade in Values - Cash Vs Store Credit?

So I'm thinking of trading in a few games that I don't play and I'm debating where to go to trade them in. EB Games gives shockingly low trade in values but they do offer cash (but that's at 80% of the trade in credit which is already low in the first place). JB gives much better values, but they don't do cash. I haven't talked to Cash Converters yet.

What are people's opinions on this?

Cash is king - always go cash, even if the value is very low

Whichever value is highest - doesn't matter if it's cash or trade credit

Well if you plan to buy something from JB in the future, you may as well get credit.

  • What games and how much? You can also trade in for store credit then sell the gift card on ebay or here.

    • Carnival Games: Wild West 3D & Freakyforms Deluxe. Got them from Kmart clearance sales (no one seemed to want them).

EB offering 75c & $4 trade credit (60c & $3.60 cash), JB offering $5 & $10 trade credit, Cash Converters offering $8 for the two of them together in cash.

I suppose it's a no brainer now but to pick JB (I wrote the post before I went to Cash Converters).

      • Definitely. I wouldn't even pay $5 for both.

  • Ebay?
