Those are serious issues raised there and that is not the first thread about this guy's businesses. Ensure you read all Whirlpool threads before signing up. Preferably stay well clear to ensure you don't lose your money.

    • Haha my corporate firewall blocks it as security risk…

      Reason: security risk
      Threat Source: http://www.serversinseconds.com.au/
Access to this website is restricted as it represents a security risk.

      Nooooope!

Whirlpool is not a support channel, and we don't respond to people going out of their way to troll there.

Even some of those claiming us as the "worst host ever!!!!!!!" continue to be clients to this day. When you offer OzBargainers $0.50 cent hosting for the full year, it encourages kids to sign-up who use the Internet like kids. We won't be doing that again.

We're a serious host, and we're offering a great deal. It's not for everyone, and that's fine.

  • $10/year for life?
    What happen after 1 year?

    • Hi kumak.

It's just for the first year. You'll save $86, then you can renew for $8/m, switch between plans, or cancel altogether.

If you've got any questions I'm happy to help.

There are far too many questions about this guy's business practices to recommend this product—at any price.

  • I had an account with SIS, for 1 year, I don't really know what the story is the place is a bit of a mystery. From a customer point of view, the whole thing was a total shambles.

I found them though a deal they posted here when they were just getting started and figured I could use the web hosting because I wanted to host a photoblog.

I don't know what the story is with their business or how they're run, but my webpage went down constantly. Then one day I get an email from some Australian government agency saying a domain name associated with my email has been hacked.

    http://www.theregister.co.uk/2013/02/26/johor_hacking_crew_s…

Low and behold mine was one of the 30. Since I only paid a few bucks for the hosting I didn't care, I stopped using it. Then I started getting emails saying that the payment for my account renewal was overdue, I tried to email them back to say I was no longer interested in renewing it, and the emails bounced, every email I sent bounced, in fact I was getting failed delivery notifications for a month after I sent my email. The whole thing seemed completely unprofessional and I wouldn't recommend them.

    • Accounts that had out of date WordPress installs were targeted in the hack. You can't just leave an unpatched, out-of-date Wordpress installs, without security plug-ins, and be fine.

As for bouncing emails, there were times where the hacked accounts were used to send spam, and that got us on blacklists occasionally, as happens with all shared servers. We've implemented some different spam prevention techniques, and haven't been blacklisted for several months, but as I said, it happens on all shared servers occasionally.

Renewals or cancellations need to be done through your account area with us at myaccount.serversinseconds.com.au.

If you'd like to discuss anything with us, please feel to contact us at [email protected] and I'll be happy to clarify anything.
