I don't understand the "must be paired with an iPhone" requirement. I don't have, or want, an iPhone. I do want and will get a smart watch this year. Apple have excluded anyone in my situation from their market.
Also no internal GPS. So if you do any exercise you still have to have your iPhone on you for it to track you. Which you can do now, without the watch.
I don't want my smart watch to feel like half a gadget. The Apple Watch IMO does look like half a gadget. You need an iPhone, and for some (maybe even most) things you need an iPhone on your person. You get a mini screen and an HR sensor, like other smart watches that will work with all phones and will be available at a cheaper price point and earlier than April. Apple aren't the revolutionaries they once were.
