This January just ended, we've sent 431 people to Copper Mt Colorado (5 to 21 nights)
It's a great family resort, not too big, easy to get around & inexpensive + close to other resorts like Breckenridge (free bus that goes every 1/2 hour all day & night from around 5am to 1am) + Vail, massive Silverthorne Outlets etc.
It's an inexpensive resort as the lift company manages the majority of apartments. Eg. Lift tickets are normally from USD$40 to $50/day (with up to 4 kids 12 years & under totally FREE with each adult purchase - conditions apply such as minimum 7 day lifts to get FREE kids & must book accommodation on snow at Copper in conjunction-this is not really a catch as accommodation is inexpensive from around USD$50/person (4 people in a spacious 1 bedroom apartment 3 star). You also get priority lift line access, so no q's on all quad & 6 person chairs.
Anyway, you can get from Denver Airport to Copper a number of ways, but using one of the various shuttle companies costs around USD$65/person one way & takes from 90 minutes & up.
Due to the large numbers of people we are sending to Copper Mt, we are seriously looking at providing FREE transfers on certain days of the week in January (probably 2 days a week, possibly Saturdays & Monday or Wednesday).
Saturdays are a really good day to check in or check out, as it's the busiest day of the week on Mt. Sundays are never as busy.
Catch is there will be a minimum spend at Copper on accom/lifts. People might not be able to use these free transfers in both directions depending on their check in/check out days, but with the drop in the value of the AUD$ vs USD$ every bit helps.
