Who Gives The Best Price for a Replacement Windscreen
Comments
thanks
I got my vr berlina rear window done for $250 at instant windscreens in SA..make sure you tell them it is a cash job and not insurance
Just got one for my son's ford work ute and paid $280. It was his back windscreen which is apparently more expensive than the front. I did the ring around.
ok will make some calls, and see what is the best deal thanks
Had mine done recently. RACQ had the best price (if you are a member).
unless you have an eroupean weird, expensive car, you can get one installed (sometimes even at work/home where they come to you) for $250-350 which is half the quoted RRP cost of O'Brians ect… shop around! The calls will save you money
Few months ago i asked a guy who was changing a windscreen on a truck, how much for my subaru front windscreen and he said he'd do it for $200 cash. I can't remember the name though… This was in Melbourne so i'd expect around $200-250 now.
$250 is trade price now, $400 retail most small places charge.
What state are you in, bsk? Let us know the outcome.
I'm in Perth, WA. I got a cracked windscreen on my Chery J11 SUV recently, a stone thrown up by a car in the opposite lane where the road surface was being repaired.
O'Briens said their normal price was $518 to replace it, but they had a special on at the time for $440. They didn't have any windscreens in stock and needed to get one from the Eastern States, taking 10 days.
I tried the Wanneroo Chery dealer, the guy wanted the VIN and when I went out to read it out to him, he said he had an incoming call and I should call him back.
I called Novus Autoglass http://novusautoglass.com.au/home.html who had them in stock at $320. They got the job, and carried it out well.
Although the Chery is a fairly rare Chinese vehicle, the windscreen is identical to the RAV 4.If it is just a stone chip many companies will fill the chip and polish over it, it looks very good
Mum just had hers done a few months ago. Au falcon $150. Works at mechanics though so was prolly trade price.
Get prices from independents - not majors who will rip you off. Discount my arse.
For a Falcadore… Dont pay more than $250.
I have been told $245 for the windscreen have not found cheaper and they will come and do out sons place so sounds good (western Sydney)
Recently got quoted $720 for a replacement front windscreen on a VW Passat by O'briens. I laughed at them.
Was quoted $320 at Novus.
The I get a call from a random number the next day; It was my local windscreens obrien saying they could do it for $280.
I accepted and they did a good job.
Call around, I had mind replaced, I got a quote from obrien for $600, stating that it was negotiabjle.
I called around and eventually found a indi doing it for under $300. My car had rain sensors as well.
