Ordered a sim off Telechoice on a 12 month plan, which has not been activated yet. Have been passed on a new iPhone 6 which is tied into a 24 Month Contract with Virgin. Just wondering if Telechoice will charge me if I don't activate the sim?

I have done that myself, ordered a Sim and then changed my mind.
I called them and they said it's fine, just send the Sim back via post, so they can reallocate the Sim to someone else. All good.
Trust me you can return it. If they wont tell them is faulty and return it and be angry if they try to tell you no. Be nice at start :P
As far as I remember, when you sign up to Telechoice you don't provide payment information. Telechoice send you the sim in the mail with instructions to call the 1300 number to both activate your sim card and provide payment information (for direct debit), at the time you do that your billing cycle begins and you begin being charged. So I am 95% sure they won't ever begin billing you if you never activate the sim.
I would still play it safe and shoot them an email just to say you've changed your mind and to cancel the unactivated service.
