  • good machine for checking out the massive japanese games backlog. pretty bad for anything else

      Ummmm, emulators!

      • +10

Exactly; all pre-Vita PSP consoles (1000, 2000, 3000, PSP Go, E1000) can now be softmodded with custom firmware so you can run homebrew software and emulators. It's a matter of copying three files onto a memory stick and executing them.

The potential is limitless once you have CFW on there; basically an entire arcade/retro-console library in your hands.

        • Which version of CFW did you download? 6.60 PRO-C fix 3 or C2?

    Locations?

    • No idea on locations sorry, only seen them at my local store, didn't call to check stock elsewhere.

  • How much are these usually?

    • +1

      $110-$120.

back when it was release it was $178-$199.

      • Used is 40ish at eb games, but no stock, so this is a good price!

  • None at innaloo WA. I bought last one in last sale for $53. Anyone that scores one should check out wololo ;p

None in Burwood East, VIC. I checked yesterday.

Checked today and Cannon Hill, QLD still has at least half a dozen units for $40. Picked one up earlier this week.

    • Minus one now. Thanks!

      • Two, also cheers!

        • Minus 3… well, I got in a bit after 9am this morning to grab one.

Thanks to sixfthick for identifying the stock. Went around before heading to the gym.

    • Thanks man, got 3, one for each of the kids. There was one left when I was there at 2:30pm.

  • Anywhere close to melbourne??

That's about all the "game" is worth to be honest…very disappointed they initally charged so much on Steam for the most terrible PC port known to man.

    Also…one level? Really?

    //rant

    It's worth $9, though.

    • Neggers, please explain why you disagree.

        1. Port seemed fine.
        2. It was made clear this was only a prologue.
        3. Personally I'm sick of people bitching about it. Don't like it, don't buy it. Simple.
        • 1) I'm surprised you were okay with the port…there weren't even key controls in the options - it showed an Xbox controller with no indication of where they corresponded on the keyboard.

          2) It's the same price as typical DLC for a game which has a standard of being within the realms of 4 hours of story-related content. I finished the entirety of the "story" within around 15-30 minutes (mostly due to key bindings not being listed).

          3) I didn't realise I could see what it was like without buying it…

I am a huge MGS fan, have been for about a decade…this "game" really let me down.

  • Worth a try at regional stores, most metro stores would have run out of stock months ago, maybe even over a year ago!

Can you list some stores that do have stock?

      • These are stores I know don't have any in stock from past experiences assisting customers

For stores with stock its best to call customer support on
        1300 124 125
        or
call your local store to call other stores in there area

First ever post, raised to front page, thanks erryone.

  • Great deal Wilburre.

I've been growing a collection of PSP games over the years from the various freebie offers… nice to be able to finally play them! Got some good stuff from that PSN hack like Killzone Liberation and Patapon 2. Pity the recent EA freebie for NFS Most Wanted is Vita only and not PSP compatible.

Buy a $10 Micro-SD card and all games are free mate.

      • Got a spare 16Gb micro SD card already… just need a Memory Stick Duo adapter.

        • How fast are these adapters?

        • @lostn:
          Fast enough.

  • No luck at Northcote,Barkley Sq, Northland. I guess not available in VIC.

  • Ah man, I'm desperate to get a PSP. I don't think I'll have any luck here in SA :(

  • Rang Pagewood, NSW. No stock.

  • Memory stick pro duos are hard to find and expensive though.

    • Get an adapter for a micro SD card… it's suppose to be fast enough and is much cheaper.

      • What's the maximum size microSd card you can put in?

  • +1

In case anyone is wondering where I'm getting my micro SD cards and adapters from, I've ordered these two adapters from ebay:

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/161565683170

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/171177879037

The first is a single slot I intend to use with my current 16Gb microSD card. It's being sent from AU so should get to me in the next week or so so I can start using

The second is that dual slot one that cheepo linked to above and being sent from China so will take at least 3 weeks I reckon. I've also ordered two 32Gb micro SD cards from shopping square to use with that dual slot adapter (also sent from overseas so should come around the same time as the dual slot adapter):

    http://www.shoppingsquare.com.au/p_399979_SanDisk_32GB_micro…

Yes, I do want 64Gb so I can put a few movies on the device but with the $4 single slot one, I can start using the PSP sooner.

Worst case scenario is that the adapters are duds… so I'll use the micro SD cards in my SD card adapter with my Nikon V1.

    • As predicted, the single slot adapter has come… got a few games working on it.

But to my surprise, ShoppingSquare has got the two 32Gb microSDs to me already. Just need that double adapter now.

      • 2x32GB? Seems a bit over the top…

        • I don't particularly want my phone or laptop being drained for watching movies on international flights. So the PSP will be taking some of that duty. Then there's the games I want loaded on from PSN. The 16Gb (or 14Gb in reality) card I currently have wasn't going to be enough. And at $14.40 each for the 32Gbs, I figured I'd just get two and not worry about needing more space if 32Gb wasn't gonna do it.

      • I looked on ebay for single slot adapters. They all have a limit of 16GB. Does yours?

        • Not sure mate. I only have a 16GB in my single slot one. Haven't tried the 32Gb ones yet and don't have the time to atm to test this I'm afraid.

BTW, this is the case I got for it:

          http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/131326598651

Also got some screen protectors coming. The screen supposed scratches easily… an I wipe it quite a lot due to dust.

  • Does anyone know if there is any in sydney?

    Thanks.

Last night I picked up one from Aspley, Qld store. They still got at least 10 but the pic only shows the 5 left in the top shelf.

Three walked out the door with myself and another person at 5pm today at Kmart Aspley. There were still approximately 8 left locked under the counter. Thanks Naga and Wilburre.

      • you are welcome :-) glad to know it helped you

  • no stock in nsw.

    • You've checked every single NSW store?

      • I called kmart customer service and they told me whats on the system.

        • That should save people some time. Good work.

        • @drazenm: Soz guys I already bought the last 2 in NSW. I called up when I saw this deal first and arranged with the stores to buy them.

    • wow. that's ridiculous!

    • Good luck to him on selling it. It costs more than a New 3DS XL, or even a Vita.

      • Even the Gamesmen on Ebay only sell PSP E1000 for around $130.

    • who are those brilliant 49 people who bought it lol

      • To be fair, the price was cheaper when they purchased if you look at the history.

  • Anyone know if there is any left in Australia?
