Good Year Tyres Buy 2 Get The Second Half Price

180

Just saw this advertisement last night while watching tennis. I just went there to quote 4 tyres assurance triplemax for $145 each one fitted. That would be $435 for the lot having the fourth tyre free. Tyres I quoted was 195/50 r16.

It seems it is only in Good Year autocare stores.

Or buy three get fourth free. Old marketing trick with a twist of words.

True. Everyone seems to be running these promotions at the moment http://www.beaurepaires.com.au/pages/specials/buy-3-get-1-fr…

      • +1

        That promotion ended July 2014.

    • +4

This may represent better value to some people, as they only might need 2 tyres replaced. It doesn't force you into purchasing 4 in one go.

    • Yes, but with this, I still get the discount if I only need 2 tyres…big diffrence for me.

    • Maybe but I only need two front tyres.

  • Good deal if you only need 2 tyres. Most other deals require you to get 4 tyres.

Too bad for people living in WA, there is only 1 appearing on dealer locator - in Willeton ( southern suburb ) …

  • car noob question - how's this deal compare with an older deal (maybe expired)?

    • It seems the current promotion does not cover that model of tyre. Regarding quality vs price I would not know that to say.

  • Had my four tyres replaced at one of the goodyear stores a few years ago. Tyres were over pressured, spare tyre was not fastened. Simply unbelievable.

    • Pls name the store for people to avoid

    • How did you survive the trauma?

      • -1

err so fasten the spare and then spend 5 mins at the servo setting the right pressure?

    • It was Hurstville NSW. When I drove back home I heard big noise from my boot. I knew the pressure when I did a service.

    • That sort of thing can happen at any tyre place. It comes down to a combination of the sort of people that work at these places (thicko's) and the price cutting pressure in this biz.

I've had directional tyres put on the wrong side (it actually has outside written on one side of the tyre!), tyres 10psi over inflated (45 instead of 32). Scratches and marks from the wheel alignment and tyre removal.

Basically come to accept that none of them can do a decent job. Your wheels will get marked. They will do a half arsed job.

I'd get toyo teo pluses in a similar size for $126 each including shipping, fitting, balancing and disposal from tyresales. so $500 all up and they have a promo on where you get 3 double movie passes worth ~$100 so I recommended checking them out as sometimes they have some good deals.

    • Got 4 for $440. I think they are called Nano Energy 3 now

      • Yeh they are really nice tyres for the price, apparently tyre power doesn't even stock teo plus cause toyo can't keep with demand for them in the US.

        • I purchased mine from Tyrepower, that was late last year.

Got mine fitted 2 weeks ago and it made a massive difference in terms of road noise and ride comfort. Old tyres still had 5k left in them but these are just great, money well spent, hope they wear decently as well.

    • Similar size does not cover for me. The lowest price of Teo Plus I coud find in the same size were $165. I had them before and love them though.

  • Have toyo tyres on small 4*4 and Mazda 3, nice tyres only that last set on the Mazda hasn't given me the mileage as I would have thought, what would be expected mileage?

  • If you're looking for AAA tyres on a budget give Minerva a try. These people have been in tyres for a long time and although they have a low profile (boom boom!), they have a great product. I fitted a set of 235/45/17 Minerva F6s to my wife's Jag about six months ago, total cost fitted and balanced around $500 (for 5) and we are very happy with them. Quite, good ride (compared to truck like P Zero Rossos that were on the car before), excellent all weather grip and they look the business. Previously fitted exactly the same tyres to my daughter's Dodge Caliber and they're half worn at 30k ks. :-) !!
