  • So the 20% off is at the Hay st store only from this Thursday?

    • Well it does say that on the sign ;)

Haha cheers was just confused why the sale wasn't at the store that's closing

  • +3

Does this mean the prices will be closer to JBHifi's standard pricing ?

    • +2

Pretty much. They actually had some genuine sale prices over boxing day sales which was surprising but back to being a rip off now

I'll go have a look tomoz … not surprised that store closed, JB is right opposite it …

        • +1

I always bought my games from that store… right after going to JB and finding the lowest price and then getting it pricematched lol

        • +1

@Denaz: I never bought fro EB because I felt sorry for all the mums buying games for the kids and not realising their prices are way higher than everyone else … I remember seeing a game for $109 in there quite often that was about $80 in JB

        • @mr_nismo:

Fair enough too. I just liked their system, with the price matching and 7 days returns, it was just easy for me, plus I'd occassionally get a free promo poster for my patronage :P

        • +2

@mr_nismo: if you pick and choose titles, all stores have expensive games compared to the other, this includes JB

        • +1

@Tal_Shiar: This is partly true .. but when the US dollar was at a high, EB were the only place selling new games over a Hundred dollars …

The people that work at EB are usually quite enthusiastic and passionate about games which i like …. in fact my PS4 bundle was bought at EB … I will always search for the cheapest price :) more often than not, its not at EB.

  • Naw, sad to hear it. Used to frequent that store a lot since it opened

  • +2

There only needs to be one EB Games store in Perth CBD, to go to compare prices and price matching as mentioned above.

    • True that, and the hay st store was always the original.

There were three in perth at one stage, Hay St, EnEx and the one in Carillion Arcade. I always thought it was overkill, at least with JB each store has a different specialty

  • Would Playstaion Plus memberships be under POSA (point of sale activated) cards? Because they're not actually activated in store.

  • Update:
Don't bother. New games are 99.95 and even with the discount is still more expensive than JB Hi Fi, and no discount on cards or hardware. Also no signs advertising the sale, had to directly ask staff about it
