As a special offer:

  • NA users who sign up to Club Nintendo prior to it's registration being discontinued will be able to obtain Flipnote Studio 3D for free in February.
  • EU/AU users who signup to the new program during the launch period will be able to download Flipnote Studio 3D to a Nintendo 3DS system for free. Please stay tuned to the Nintendo website for further details.

This is why the N3DS/N3DS XL does not come with Club Nintendo PINs.

Schedule as follows:

  • February 1, 2015: Nintendo Japan will no longer include product registration cards with retail games.
  • February 2015: Nintendo of America will add several physical and digital rewards on which Club Nintendo members can spend their remaining coins.
  • March 31, 2015: Nintendo of America ends new member registration and the ability to earn coins.
  • April 1, 2015: Nintendo of Europe/Australia will no longer include product registration cards with retail games.

  • June 30, 2015: Club Nintendo discontinued in North America.
  • September 30, 2015: Club Nintendo discontinued in Europe, Australia and Japan.

2. Flipnote Studio 3D will be given away for free in February for all North American Club Nintendo registrants prior to registration being discontinued. Europeans/Australians will receive Flipnote Studio 3D during the launch period of the new program (no name announced yet).

  • I was going to say this is terrible news, but I read this

We’re working hard to create a new membership programme, which we plan to launch later this year

So it's not so bad, I guess.

    Thanks for the heads up.

I was thinking the same thing… although it really doesn't help that I have about 5000 points laying around, which I would prefer them to be put into a new system. I would much prefer if the points added up for virtual console games instead of the items in the current stars catalog, similar to the NA system, since to be honest, there wasn't many great items throughout the years in the Aus Club Nintendo catalog.

      • With the current wave of strange Nintendo business decisions, I expect "We’re working hard to create a new membership programme, which we plan to launch later this year" to mean "We're going to release a heap of cool in-app transaction candy crush clones with pokemon skins to be exclusive through our new subscription based Xbox Live style service"

I just don't know who to trust anymore!

        • I was wondering that, DLC you nab with stars? Considering I get the stars for buying games I planned to buy anyway, is it that bad.

Lack of information to judge. My guess is that it will be a more digital based scheme, interested to see how it pans out.

Would love it to be a merge of anything onto one account so you can link all your consoles to one profile (my second 3ds looks lonely and odd with a random profile on it).

  • Dammit! I really liked this promo.

Guess I'll start buying games from UK then

  • torn between spending everything now before it's all gone and waiting for their 'new' items, first world problems.

    • going through the exact same dilemma. although i don't see anything good to claim!

    • +1

There is meant to be some new items launching before it goes down for stars to be spent on. I'm waiting for that.

  • Is there any use for unclaimed club Nintendo codes? are there any plans to use them with the new service?
