OZBARGAIN

We're the online reseller for ELEDCO LEDs in Australia and we're kicking off with a sale to bring down the price of the 8-Pack of ILLU500 7W MR16 LEDs to $99.00 which comes out to $12.38 per LED with free shipping.

Out-specs the popular Philips Master 7W MR16 based on LED Benchmarks but is NON-DIMMABLE.
Our product link has a bit of a comparison table of specs based on the LED Benchmarks.

It's also got C-Tick, SAA, RoHS and CE approvals for safety and peace-of-mind.

Specifications @ LED Benchmark: http://www.ledbenchmark.com/display.php?id=330&name=Eledco+7…

Use the OZBARGAIN coupon code during checkout to bring the price down on 8x ILLU500s from $125.12 to $99.00

[Edit: I'm told it's compatible with all transformers EXCEPT the VIPER transformer(s).]
[Edit 2: Similar in specifications to the Philips Master 5.5W MR16 LED but brighter!]

Has anyone used these led down lights before?

  • +2

A better comparison would have been the 5.5W Phillips master which is brighter (than the 7W) and obviously uses less power at around $14-15 per globe.

    • Thanks! I've been learning about LEDs lately (in preparation of this) so I'll see if I can quickly get this into the comparison table on the website too.

    • I've added the comparison with the 5.5W Master LED.
Similar specs with a trade-off of brightness for power I suppose?

You're the online reseller yet know nothing about LED's?!

    • Just not as familiar with the LED Market than I am with the furniture market - we were asked by our mates at Eledco whether we could resell their product online and said sure. Gotta start somewhere :)

Not knocking your product, but Philips Master's pretty much own the retrofit market for the "low risk taker" mum and dad type buyer, at $16 each (http://www.bunnings.com.au/philips-master-led-mr16-7w-4000k-…) I think a knock off no name / no history bulb probably needs to undercut the Master by more than $3-4 each to get a leg in the door.

    • Thanks for the feedback - definitely appreciated and we're working on it :)

One of our problems is historically we haven't dealt with AusPost at all so we're working with standard postage rates - otherwise I'd have run a deal on OzBargain for a 1-bulb trial to let people try the product :(

      • This would have been a great option. It would have been good to be able to test one out first before committing to 30+ globes.

It's a little odd that the discount doesn't work all the way up to 30. I need about 35 globes to get all of upstairs changed over, I imagine it will be annoying to have to put in 5 separate orders to a) manage to get more than 30 globes and b) get them at $12.38 a globe.

Sorry about that - I think we had set it that way because we're going to send them out via AusPost boxes in 8s as it's the most logical postage configuration for us to send them out at a flat rate Australia-wide.

You can use the discount code OZBARGAIN2 to bypass it though. Should work for numbers 10+

      Ask and ye shall receive!

  • Is this a passively cooled bulb? or does it have a fan like the older Phillips 10W globes? Thanks

    • It's passively cooled using high grade aluminium but should still run cool compared to other 7W LEDs. Also, I'm told that fans in LEDs are often a risky bet because their lifetime is lower than both the chips and the driver.

  • Hi Rep, are you able to let me know whether there is a 'gap' between the lens and the heatsink/surround (as in can air move around the bulb itself and into/out of the roof space)?

I've been through all the pics I can find online, but can't quite make it out anywhere…

I need a bulb without this so I can install without losing heat or hearing a draft through the gaps. Cheers!

Just trying to get our heads around exactly which space you're referring to. Just from the face of the LED to the back there is no gap for the air to get through.

      http://www.apartmentlifestyle.com.au/product_images/v/407/IL…

However, in the photo above, those larger vents about half way down the globe will let air in and out so it can circulate around - if that's what you're after.

      • Thanks Yoz - no gap from face to back is what I was hoping for. I'll get an order through to you shortly!

I have just received my first shipment of these globes today. Very happy. No flicker at all and plenty of lumens. Previously had Chinese cheapies which were dull, flickered unbelievably and some didn't have a very long life.I've just ordered another 12, also in daylight white.

    • Just processed and packaged up your order and have it ready to go out tomorrow :)

    • I didn't see any colour other than 3000k warm white??

  • I received my order of 8 leds and I am impressed, brighter than Phillips master and not open so no loss of warmth or cold draughts come through all the holes or bugs or dust etc etc. Also slightly easier to install as you don't need to worry about the protrusion of the master led through the fitting or trying to line up the exposed fins with the fitting. Haven't seen a downside yet.

  • I received my order of 14. Very impressed. The light matches the halogens that i was replacing. I wish they did a dimmable version as i need to replace around 30 globes.
