Hello
I collect the rental car at airport and want to buy my holiday provisions before I get to CBD hotel
Can a Sydneysider tell me where I would find Coles or Woolworths supermarket that is enroute to CBD.

Waterloo
Woolworths on the corner of George Street and Park Street, Coles World Square on George Street or Coles on the corner of King Street and George Street.
Personally I'd stop at Broadway instead of world square or townhall woolies. There's free parking
Very good Coles, even better since Chippendale Woolies popped up.
Also Broadway has Harris Farm downstairs.
Also Aldi.
forgot that… food snob…
@Baghern: No worries, I'm a bargain snob. :)
I would say try the corner of Danks St and Bourke St in Moore Park. There is an Aldi on one corner (free parking for a couple of hours) and a Coles on the other side. Just off from Southern Cross drive which is the easiest way to the CBD. Don't think the city supermarkets are a good idea as you can't park there and you don't want to lug the groceries too far.
Surry Hills shopping village
Go to Paddys Market for awesome Fruit + Veg (much better than cheapcheap supermarkets)
How much shopping are you thinking you will doing? If's it's only a few bags then I'd suggest the Coles on the corner of George and King St (take the escalator downstairs). They have a good selection for a city supermarket, and a bottleshop too Im pretty sure.
World Square at 680 George Street would have all that you need under one roof.
