There don't seem to be any tricks or catches to this service, which will come as a big surprise to cynics. It's run as an adjunct to Relikweb, a web business based in Perth. Send up to five SMS a day to users of the local mobile networks.
Sometimes the page doesn't load properly (choice of browser?) and there have been occasional problems sending to Telstra numbers. Worth a try though.
doesn't seem to work for me. I have tried OPTUS and 3 network, both failed to receive the messages I sent.

"web2msg.com has a daily allocation of SMS's avaliable to be sent per provider, once these allocations are used, the ability to send to these providers will be locked out until the following day"
Just try send 1 msg but didn't work "limit have been reach"
Worked fine on Telstra for me, only downside is it gets sent from 0433124162 and people might not have any idea who that is.
It has worked for me but you need to remember to sign off with your name or else the person who receives it will hae noi idea who just messaged them.
Two others that are handy are smspup and freesmsmate.
A lot of people also don't realise that Facebook has a free sms application. If you and your friends add it, you can visit each others profiles and send free smses! Pretty cool!
