Halo Master Chief Collection on Xbox One

Hi all

More than a decade ago, friends and I played Halo on the original Xbox with 4 Xboxes linked up and 4 players to a TV. The game of choice was Capture The Flag (CTF) at Blood Gulch. Each game lasted forever but it was a blast.

Fast forward to today and I want to recreate this with Halo Master Chief Collection on Xbox One. I don't own an Xbox One so I'm wondering if someone can help me out with the following…

  1. Would MC Collection offer 16 players at Blood Gulch for CTF on original Halo?
  2. Is the same as the original?
  3. Is online an option? Or is only system link available?

Thanks!

  • Putting aside the problems caused by any major Microsoft release (Cough, the entire Xbone, cough, any Rareware release, cough, the kinect, cough) due to their hatred for their own customers…

3 Is online an option? Or is only system link available?

Yes, online is an option. Frankly I find this to be a silly statement, because the videogaming industry has all but forsaken splitscreening and family gaming for the online option. Halo DOES still have splitscreen. Can you even system link consoles anymore? Is that even still a thing?

But you WILL be able to create a private oinline lobby once all the consoles are net-connected, and can indeed do this.

2 Is the same as the original

I'm not sure. I do know that they remake Bloogulch (Coagulation) in almost every Halo game and add a few more tunnels or hills, so it may be one of the remake versions that made it into the final release.

As for the number of players, I frankly don't know, as every Google search I did just sent me results of IGN going "THIS GAME IS THE BEST GAME EVER BECAUSE 343 GAVE US HEAPS OF MONEY 11/10 GOTY"

I just wanted to check that online was still an option with 4 players per TV. Some games allow 4 players per TV locally but then only allow 2 per TV for LAN or online. Back in the original Halo days, online wasn't an option! :)
