Hi all,

Thought this was a good price for those looking for a budget Windows tablet, particularly given the specs. Screen is a decent resolution and IPS.

I'd prefer a reputable Chinese brand over some of these "no-name" ones appearing in Coles/Target, etc.

Quadcore Windows tablet by PiPO for US$115.98 - Was US$139.05

PiPO have been making tablets for a while and have a good reputation for quality. You can read a review of one of their other tablets here: http://www.techradar.com/au/reviews/pc-mac/tablets/pipo-w2-1…

  • Shame it doesnt have a dedicated usb port… otherwise it'll be better value than pendo pad 8

    • It does say it has an USB OTG port but you'd have to use the included cable.

  • This one has the same specs (but no hdmi) and is $17 cheaper:

There are lots of reviews on youtube.

  • 4GB RAM and these would be flying off the shelves. 2GB is reasonable though for most applications. I run a VM with 1.6 GB RAM, it does lag though during Windows Update. At 3-4GB RAM, this doesn't occur.

  • I just received this newsletter from GeekBuy.

Anyone have experience with any of these brands? The Teclast X98 Air 'Surface Pro' rip-offs look very tempting and they are able to dual boot Android and Windows.

  • GPS?

  • +1

Has anyone actually got a Pipo and likes it? Mine is a piece of crap. Battery is rubbish, the whole thing is so slow even though it had some rocking specs at the time of purchase relative to the competition as they always seem to do. I'd rather pay more for a reputable brand, mine is just an expensive paperweight now.

    • Which model did you get?

    • Definitely interested in the model, as feedback on various forums say that they are one of the better Chinese manufacturers.
