Hong Kong Disneyland and Oceanpark

Hi all. Currently in Macau. Looking to travel to Disneyland and Oceanpark in Hong Kong. Looking for cheap ticket deals and hotel stays and general feedback on where to stay and what to do. Got 2 - 3 days in total for Hong Kong.

Comments

  • well Disney and Ocean Park are a day each.
Ocean Park is better for adults and teens.
Kick back and go to Stanley for half a day or so or visit Big Buddha.
Plenty to do in HK just depends on what you want to do/tastes.

  • I'm an adult but I prefer Disney!! Although I do have a 5 year old stuck inside me.

If you're going for the rides, Ocean Park is better (more exhilirating). But for the fantasies, Disneyland is more magical.. and I prefer that. And yes they are a day each.

As BiotBargin said, plenty to do in Hongkong. I spent 7 days there and it wasn't enough. All depends on what you wanna do.

    • i have been twice for a total of 19 days….still not enough planning to go again around Easter :) (mind you everytime you go you visit some of the same things again).

There is plenty of freebies also i should mention…yes they arent fantastic but they are worth a look. Kowloon park (also has a large bird aviary and the avenue of cartoon stars), Hong Kong Park which has a small free zoo, bird and plant atriums, Stanley Prison (if you go to Stanley), Hong Kong Costal Defence Museum, Wetlands Park …. list goes on.

  • i bought slightly discounted tickets for HK disneyland from the hotel I was staying at. -Panda hotel.

  • We just came back. We didn't go to Oceanpark but i've heard its better than Disneyland. Cost us $350 just to get in (2 adults 3 children) which is a rip off considering our kids weren't willing to queue up for 50mins + to get onto a ride that lasts 5mins (in alot of cases).

Didn't even manage to stay for the fireworks at the end of the night because our kids were over the queuing and just wanted to go home. Food in there is ridiculously priced for the quality and quantity. I'd go Oceanpark.

We stayed at the Madera hotel just off Nathan Rd and it was a great hotel/location but their tickets were exactly same price as Disneyland so we just bought them at the gate.

  • Thanks all for your responses. Ended up going to Disneyland for 2 days and staying at the Hollywood hotel. Yes expensive but worth the experience. Fireworks at night worth it alone. Didn't end up going to Oceanpark. Next trip.
