    $26.90 -price in title

    • I could not fit the price of beer in the title

      • yeah, however the amount you are saving is nonsense if you don't know the cost price.

This is like the free printers when you buy ink.

Had a TK from a previous deal and have bought kegs on and off. These are great when you are the occasional drinker and only want small or custom quantities at a time. They last 20ish days but we have sometimes dragged it out to a mth.

    • +1

I would of thought a normal case of beer would be better for an occasional drinker, cheaper per litre also.

Call me a wuss but there are times when 330ml is too much and all I want is like half a cup of beer. Lol I know… but this is why I say its perfect for dispensing custom amounts.

        • +2

Yep you are a wuss. "Times when 330ml is too much" ???? Really?

        • +2

There are times when 2x 330ml are too much.

      • Tap King beer tastes better than bottled beer. But whether it's worth the relative lack of convenience is debatable.

  • +3

I threw out my last free tap king dispenser. I still think you're much better off just buying a slab

  • Anyone drink this beer? In either form. Comment on tastes? Im usually a Carlton Dry/Hahn Super Dry/Peroni man…

It cost's 150 lashes of the cane?

  • +1

I love drinking out of these things, kinda fun to pour your own beer and it tastes awesome.
Not sure about value of beer compared to 6 packs etc, but hey, its fun!

    • +1

If these beers are usually sold in 330ml bottles a 3.2L keg for $27 is the equivalent to almost $67 for a slab.

Still expensive if you ask me (although if didn't get the freebie dispenser previously it may be worth it)

  • +1

i love my tap king, i don't drink either of these particular beers but i still think beer tastes better out of this thing, despite the more expensive cost

  • I agree, good novelty fun pouring your own been and take up a lot less space then a case of beer but a bit more expensive.

    • +1

That's because a case of 375ml beer has 9 litres, almost 3 times the amount.
You don't have to put them in the fridge all at once.
      Solving 1st world problems.

  • I got a free TK last time and don't have enough room in the fridge to keep one in permanently, so would only use it for parties, and BBQs.

  • Are these bottles refillable, as in for home brew?

EDIT: Never mind, it looks like they're plastic. Hubby gave away his plastic bottles because he prefers glass.

  • Had one for Xmas where they had a kit with glasses and dispenser for $35,

They also had a recent offer for two kegs for $50

They're superb for entertaining guests, boags, 150 lashes taste great, forget the other one I've tried. Gotten through, 4 bottles since xmas, gonna get a fifth and hack a hole in an esky to put the free dispenser

For homebrew fans, you can buy the 12g cylinders of CO2, a small triangular screwdriver and re-use the bottles, they're thick plastic
I'm saving all my empties to do this, I recon 6-8 will take care of a standard batch of homebrew.

    • home brew kit usage. good call.

  • Check out'tapking hacked' to make it for home brew dispensing. Works great. Done it myself.

  • I used these for a while but ended up getting rid of it. My observations:

    Pros
    - novelty value
    - tastes better (although not as good as pub poured)

    Cons
    - limited selection of beers available
    - takes up lot of space in the fridge (and when one keg is getting low you need to put another in the fridge - takes up even more space)
    - takes longer to cool the keg than bottles or cans
    - you lose a bit of beer due to froth/foam
    - only have 3 weeks to drink the beer
    - stuck with drinking the same beer until the keg is empty
    - costs more

In summary; worth trying, but long term not that great an option (IMO).

  • I regularly drink the squire Golden ale out of tap king. Is don, is good.

I prefer tap king to bottled beer and appreciate how easy it is to sneak a little half glass. Worth a $26.99 outlay for this "trial".

I have had the pale ale in the pub. I may give it a go out of tap king to grab another back up. Both are fine brews. I just wish they had the Amber on tap.
