What Do You Do with Unwanted Electrical Goods (e.g. Digital Cameras etc.)

Hello everyone,

I have been doing a tidy up and declutter at home, and am wondering what to do with some old electronics equipment I have heaped in a drawer. In particular, I have two digital cameras that are still in good condition (an Ixus and a Lumix). Not sure if it is worth trying to sell them, as I am not sure whether there will be many buyers around for digital cameras. Would a charity want them? Any ideas about what I should do?

You can help by donating to your local op shop.

    Gumtree

  • I have listed some old electrical items on Gumtree for free but I still couldn't get rid of them.

I have an old NetComm modem router and I gave up trying to give away a 50cm pedestal fan.

At least with phones they can go to Mobile Muster.

Somehow my old IXUS sold for $20 with some SD cards but I was advised to throw it out:

    Cash Converter?

Also, depends on what 'electrical' goods. Many charity don't take electrical goods. The Salvos have refused to take our pedestal fans, they told us they don't take anything that comes with a plug!

Digital camera…what about donate it to your local school?

  • First world problem.

    • Tis, in a pretty sad way.

      For the planet.

      When you think about it.

Mountains of useless plastic junk… unwanted by all.

(I've got the same problem. WTH to do with outdated cameras and PC gear? Where the hell do you send it for any sort of meaningful, or environmental disposal - if such a thing is even possible? etc).
