UMI Zero - Has Anyone Got One?

Hey Guys!

I'm thinking to get one of these.
I like the aluminium body but I think the problem is that the battery is not interchangeable.
What do you think?

  • I know this is completely off topic. About two years ago you put on a post about medical insurance for your wife to have kids in Australia when she is on a 461 visa.
I am in a similar boat at the moment. I am a New Zealand citizen living and working in Australia. My wife is Thai and has been living with me here for almost two years this September on a 461 visa.
Is there any advice you can give me from your experience about what visa we can apply for to get her permanent residency here is Australia.
Your advice would be greatly appreciated. I thoroughly agree with you that the 461 visa is a bridge to no where and makes things difficult in the way of medicare and starting a family here in Australia.

    • Well there is no easy way to get residency for us now.
The cheaper way is when I apply for Temporary residency and I can add my wife on the application.
The catch is it needs to be done through work and you have to be at the same job for 3 years.
Then extra 2 years at that job while you are Temporary resident and then you apply for permanent residency.
      And then you get citizenship.

But if you or her have a good(needed for Australia) degree you can try the point system.
And if you are rich you can just buy your way through paying agents.

You can check you options with immigration agents but beware that they will tell you only what they can make money from.

And for the topic - I didn't end up buying this.
I got myself Moto G 2nd from Goodguys.
Now waiting on Note 4 to be around $550.

      • Good call on the Moto G.
And for the wait on the Note 4 price as well!

  • +1

Thank you for all your help. I might try the point system. I am a industrial electrician. So maybe I can go through that way. Will remember what you said about the immigration agents.
It's funny how you said about being rich. As my wife has a friend whose boyfriend is a very much older, very rich guy. As far as I know he bought a investment property here in Australia when they were both in europe and she was granted PR and she wasn't even in Australia. Funny how money works. Will just try and win Lotto. LOL.
That SCV visa we are on is such a load of crap. Really good for us. But when it comes to our partners. Whole lot of trouble. If only I was in Australia on 26 February 2001.
Well anyway, sorry to waffle on.
Thank you for all your help and I wish you the best of luck for you and your wife. If I find a way through the mine field will let you know. Have fun with your Moto G
