I purchased a cheap return ticket to Bali during a sale. Unfortunately due to work, I'm unable to use the ticket. I'm thinking of selling the ticket on gum tree. I assume the fee would just be $80 for the name change? Any other fees I should know about?
I sold a airasia ticket on gumtree no problem, I got the amount I actually paid. The only thing extra I paid was the name transfer which was around $150
For domestic flights some people buy tickets without bothering to change the name, as they generally don't ever check ID.
Obviously you can't do this for an international flight though.
We sold 2 pax JQ flights SYD/HNL/SYD on Gumtree no probs paid name change think it s about $150 each at the time. Didn't lose much at all as tickets were originally bought during a sale.
with our Qantas tickets to LAX name change are permitted for $200 (airline says this fee with increase soon) but can't be done if Qantas frequent flyer a/c has been added to booking. In this case, a credit is generated, which must be used within 12 months or original ticket issue date.
You'll get slogged a massive fee.

So you'll have to pay the $80 name change PLUS any fare difference between the fare you paid and what the price is now.
