Anyone has any experience with either of these fans? Which one has better quality/build ?

These puns are really cool and blow me away, but they are getting old really fast. We may have to start circulating some new puns

  • Will see if I can get one. Every pedestal fan we ever bought only barely lasted one season. The only exception was the Mistral all metal fans from bigw which are still running very well after about 10 years. But regrettably they don't make those any more :(

  • Anyone's tried an air circulator fan such as Vortex? Vortex is expensive but Coles sells Celsius branded at around $26.

edit: I'm not associated, selected in error, can't deselect now.

    • We have a Vornado. Works great to spread air around large spaces. Nowadays we use it in front of a window to bring evening cool air inside. Works very well in air-conditioned rooms as well. The only thing is that if it is really hot afternoon and u use the circulator only, it makes things worse by circulating the hot air!

      • Do you find the Vornado unit noisy? I'm sure it's hard to describe in words but is it noticeably louder than a normal pedestal fan, say Vornado at lowest speed vs pedestal fan at highest speed?

edit: just reminding all that I'm not associated. selected in error.

Loud as hell, but moves alot of air for it's size. A decent 40+cm fan will move as much air quieter, a high velocity cheapie will move a hell lot more.

  • Overkill for a small bedroom? I love heavy duty/industrial products.

    • Possibly yes. I have a Tradetools 750mm Industrial Pedestal for my shed, but its rated at 380W, almost twice the Masters one. Even on slowest setting, it moves a LOT of air. Easily circulates air very well around a 9mx5m shed. Fairly noisy too. These are great for hot summer days though in larger areas where the noise isn't an issue. But yes, the industrial ones are built far better and will generally last much longer.

    • Way overkill, I've got a 750mm wall mount and on the lowest setting it's quite loud.
